The owners of the intellectual propterty are Penn and Teller themselves as the company went out of business right before it was released. Penn Jilette in a video has basically given permision to anyone to download it while he was discussing the charity that plays this game to raise money for kids. :D There is a link to the torrent where you can get a copy in the description.

The funny part about the tow truck that he didn't mention is that it carries you back to Tucson in real time. If you made it 5 hours and then got towed, it'll take 5 more hours to get back to start.

If you drive 20 miles out it won't show you being towed all the way back. I'm not sure what the exact distance is that it stops towing you all the way back but I've personally tested it.

@BlackWingsRainbowTip I record all my game footage on actual consoles. This was playted on a model 2 Genesis/Model 2 Sega CD combo. There's a link in the description to torrent yourself up a copy. Sega CD has no copy protection so you can easily burn it and play it if you have a Sega CD.

The ISO floatingaround on the internet, you can grab a torrent in the description, is from a review copy. Manuals were made, promotional materials the whole thing. Before they could mass produce and sell the game the developers went out of business. I believe Penn and Teller own the rights to the game now.

My roommate told me about this years ago, he worked for Absolute Entertainment and his father, Marshal Rodgers (The same Marshal that was the key illustrator for BATMAN) came up with this idea. He threw the idea at Penn and Teller who said I LOVE IT! And Desert Bus was born. We found this and watched it together laughing our asses off, and my roommate to the Desert Bus charity event "My father's legacy lives on." Marshal died in 2007... forget all of his Batman work... DESERT BUS IS HIS LEGACY!

@someguyoutthere110 When you get your 1 point it asks if you want to pull a double shift and you get to drive back to Vegas for a second point. It continues on like that for a while.

No there isn't a pause button if you hit start the horn beeps and that's it. The only way to pause would be through emulation. I played this on my Sega CD and earned 1 point. I have 2 hours of that run uploaded.

@samarilincon 45mph is the bus' top speed. You can drive slower if you want. But if you mash on the gas as soon as the bus starts and maintain speed it takes exactly 8 hours on the dot to get to Vegas. I did this one time and earned my one point. There's a video of the first 2 hours of the trip on my channel.

Yeah this would have been a real gem had it been released. You should download it and try it out. There's several other mini games on Smoke and Mirrors that are worth seeing. The game was made to fuck with your friends and cheat. There's games that no matter what player 1 always wins. And a side scrolling action game with Penn and Teller.

yeah penn and teller are great. In one of the episodes of their show on Showtime they interview people who are really against video games and people who aren't against it. In the end of the episode they take a 10 yr old boy who is absolutely crazy over video games (mainly shooters) to a shooting range. They give him an m4, i think, to fire at a poster. The kid takes one shot and he doesn't want to fire the gun again. 5 minutes later they show a scene of the kid crying and moaning in a corner.
