  • It was worth watching thank you & i did enjoy it.

That amp & the Ampeg SVT are the kings of bass amps hands down.

Cool video, please do some more bass amp reviews if you can.

  • It's funny... I used to design and build amplifiers like this 40 years ago, and back then, anything over 100 watts seemed like a lot of power. Today, I have several 6,000 watt solid state industrial amplifiers in my home sound system, so my reference points have been skewed a bit lately.. :-)

Anyway, enjoyed watching all the old 'iron' performing on tests. Makes me want to get my lab cleaned up and start doing some amp servicing again.

  • Actually, the amp was brought to me for repair by my customer already out of the case so, I can't help you with advice on how to get out of its housing -

  • Cool video! How did you take it out of it's housing?

  • you should play it a little, show us how it sounds.....btw, nice vid

  • Hi , is it GOOD for electric guitar?

  • @drystef I own one and have tried playing guitar through it. No Bueno. This thing is in the bass realm. Tell your bass player to get one though.

  • @drystef While many Bassman amps are great for guitar, with a price of $900-$1800USD, there are an infinite number of much better amps suited for guitar.

  • sounds great

  • beautiful

  • Thank you for your input. This amp just passed through my shop and I no longer have it. I quickly threw the video out on YouTube not knowing much about the operation of the amp but you have explained it. I am sure other viewers will appreciate and understand your comments. Even as weird and I may have it adjusted, I was impressed with the raw power the amp could deliver. Thanks again.

  • Hi, interesting test. I have this amp and as far as I can see it in the video you have some odd settings which explain that the 1kHz frequency has less output. You have the compression section on and the “eq balance“ all the way to bass (this pot is like a crossover). Also the comp make up gain is cranked.

Would be great to see the results when you turn the comp off for the test.

  • You have lots of things

  • @brendanc1987 LOL

  • very airy.

  • Tuner out is so you can send a signal to a rackmount tuner without having to unplug your bass.
