  • @MrLotso89 i dont think so.but since both closed,it might have some props in universal studios or might have some in the now nickelodeon studios in california

  • THATS THE FACE OF EVIL

  • where is the props is it in the studio or in the jimmy neutron ride store

  • Now @1:19 theres a gate so you cant freely run around like that

  • were do the have that nick prop museum

  • now infront of the blue man group theres a roller coaster. when i go back to universal i plan to steal props no lie theres a rumor of a warehouse behind blue man group

  • I went there to the studios..... im 12..... i am SOOOOO mad i never went there... my sister was a player in SPLAT... she has some props/ stuff from there.... i wanna go... o yeah i am next year

  • @ThePopcorn12 lmao and its not there :P i was in all that as a side person :P

  • I was there last summer and stood next to the blue man building and had no idea it used to be the studios. i feel like a dumb ass.

  • @ItsMeCarlyNicole i feel the same way

  • Keenan and Kel ride FTW!

  • how do you get to the props?

  • @appleAddict240872 you ride Jimmy Nuetron the ride and when you exit the RIDE not the building itself but before you reach the ift shop there all there! o and i sat on the chair there...

  • These are the faces of evil. You must conquer each.

    (:P sorry...I had to...)

  • Im from the philippines Ive always watched nick and was excited when it was first launched in asia , never experienced going to nick studios. When i was a kid i always dreamed about going there. The bluemen group just crushed my child hood -_-

  • lol 0:23 "thats the face of evil"

  • is the jimmy neuton thing still there?

  • @HighBusProductions it's being replaced by despicable me.

  • Is this still there?

  • @gsnfan1416

The buildings are still there. They are being used for other purposes. FSN, Blue Man Group & Sun Sports are the primary organizations that use the complex for various functions. Inside, there are bits & pieces of Nickelodeon to be found (someone said that restrooms still have the orange "splat" on the floors).

  • The building next to it was where Nickelodeon studios was. Blue man is the FACE OF EVIL!!!! lol.

  • please ignore my comment that was the writeing studios

  • nickelodeon has moved to universal studios holywood' canada

  • this is so sad, I hate nickelodeon's writers, their shows just arent as good as they used to be. Do you know where the new game show brainsurge was filmed? I don't think its on any more tho. I think brain surge only lasted one season.

  • @thehahacac

BrainSurge originated from Hollywood Center Studios.

  • @thehahacac

According to information found on nickcontestants, com, auditions were held for BrainSurge in January and continue this month. So it looks like a 3rd season is in the works.

  • It's looks like they locked up all those old props in cages like zoo animals, they must be afraid they'll escape... I miss the old Nick.

  • this made me cry cause i miss these shows so much...i remember how badly wanted to play on global guts and double dare 2000... :(

  • @TheUchihaGirl me too!!!!!

  • ACtually, Blue Man Group had NOTHING to do with it's closing, Blue Man Group actually saved the building! If no one bought the building or had intrest I'm sure Universal would take it down to make space for new rides. Blue Man Group isn't evil it's actaully an amazing company!

  • They should build a Nickelodeon museum and all the props in it. Wishful thinking I guess.

  • @animegal2686

One of the reasons that Nickelodeon Studios closed is because very few people stopped by to visit, take the tour and go to the store....even on the days when the rest of Universal Studios was packed.

Because of the lack of visitors, it just didn't make any sense to turn the building into a museum or anything that had to do with Nickelodeon.

  • @bewarethedecks

Okay, thus it shall remain wishful thinking.

  • @animegal2686

On the other hand.....if there was a need for another facility like the one in Orlando.....Nickelodeon could always either build (or buy) one in Southern California. But right now....it seems to make more sense for Nick to lease studio facilities in and around the Los Angeles area....rather than build a general production studio complex and own it outright.

  • who knows what's going to happen in the new decade, they just may come back ...... but with a struggling economy who knows.....

  • @mrlovesjesus811

The chances of Nickelodeon returning to Orlando are pretty much "0". Los Angeles is the center of the Entertainment Industry. Actors know....that if they move from Los Angeles to Orlando....that there won't be any work for them.

In an interview posted on YouTube, Kirk Fogg said that Dee Bradley Baker's career was going nowhere while he was living in Orlando. Kirk convinced Dee to move to Los Angeles....and now Dee is in high demand for voice-over work.

  • i understand but why did the geyser have to go? have they no mercy?!

  • @chattychar

The slime geyser belonged to Nickelodeon. Had it been left behind, it would have been considered abandoned and Universal, most likely, would have removed it, during the renovations to the complex.

Maybe the geyser could have been moved to the Nickelodeon Suites Resort (the Nick Hotel) just like the time capsule was.....but.....for whatever reason.....that didn't happen.

  • its sad as a kid i dream of one day coming my self and to bring my kids now me or my kids will never get to

  • @Markazjb

Same here except I currently don't have kids, it was always a dream of mine too.

  • The closing of Nickelodeon Studios was mostly due to changes in the types of programs that the public wanted to watch.

Game shows were out while scripted programs & cartoons were in and neither format was suitable for the Orlando facility for reasons discussed both here and on other Nickelodeon Studios tribute videos.

Disney had nothing to do with the closure.

  • The only soundstage the blueman group has is 18 (the slightly larger one), 19 is vacant and was used for my famlys got GUTS training the viewing tube thingys are still there with seats but are usedfor storage the dressing rooms are still there (and used by the blue man group) and the green room is too it was actually renovated for my familys go GUTS. Unfortanatly the gak kitchen was removed for a conseccesion stand. However not one part of the 2nd or 3rd floors have been touched the control room

  • Comment removed

  • @GJshorts Stage 21 is tna wrestling in there

  • Is this stuff still there?

  • Blue man group has nothing to do with it. It was a little annoying with the kids saying ."That's the face of evil." When they had nothing to do with it. Blame it on Turner or Nick for selling to Disney.

  • Is this in the gift shop of aquos theater or what?

  • I Just Found Out How theyre Wasnt One Anymore

A Little Piece Of Me Literally Just Died.:(

  • @KarinaaTwloha What?

  • 3:28 GLOBAL GUTS MY FAV SHOW T.T

  • FUCK U BLUE GRUPPP

  • @rkoller10

Again.....Blue Man Group had nothing to do with the closing of Nickelodeon Studios.

  • @rkoller10 fuck your spelling

  • one person went in there and posted photos on youtube!

  • when does the Blue Man group start?

  • What room did you go to to find all those props?

  • ill watch nickelodeon so much ill be in heaven and im still watching it

  • lol it wasn't their fault the studio ran out of money

  • @TheDreadnaughtBand the studio didn't run out of money they left because nobody would come to the live shows and crap and it was so stupid why it went to new york and los angeles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Viacom's a bitch. If they saw all the videos we watch they should know the old shows are more popular than the new shows! Bring them back! At least bring back Nick GaS!

  • @AmateurCorpse well it didnt help the changed the format for Welcome Freshman after season two it want downhill

  • @AmateurCorpse Agreed.

  • @AmateurCorpse Agreed.

  • man, all the badass props! double dare and guts signs!?

  • i heard they used soundstage 18 for my family has guts

  • @noburqua It was soundstage 19-21

  • @noburqua now Stage 21 is tna wrestling

  • this makes me want to cry. if i was the ceo of nick, i would cancel just about every show on there and put it on a teennick channel, and have the real nickelodeon shows on

  • Mn i remember watching tis as a kid i can not believe it is gon... it's like a ghosttown now...

  • BRING BACK NICK!!

  • Dang I was on a game show there a few years ago.

  • Hey hey that's me buddy that's me

  • im sorry it was just getting annoying

  • do they still have benches

  • PM sent to Mariokartracer10

  • IF the Jimmy neutron thingy is still there, they should expand it a bit and put just one stage and like a mini museum with some of the props from the old nick there

  • man i really wish i could have gone there when it was nickelodeon studios

  • Your all sounding like old farts. They changed the Networks because that's what the kids of the 21st Century want to see. Get with the times old dudes.

But yes, i don'tlike any of the new shows either, but then again I'm not a kid anymore.

  • so because you just turned 12,

you stopped watching Nickelodeon because you THINK you're more mature?

i plan on watching Nick till i'm in diapers again when im 90 something.

Just cause your friends watch brain washing, time wasting Real World, and Laguna Beach and shit, doesn't mean thats whats "in".

    fuck that

  • Actualy i watch alot of History channel, Discovery, National Geographic, and some Syfy. I don't care much for reality television or Sitcoms or cartoons.

  • This video is so sad. :( But nickelodeon sucked and went downhill after 2000 or 2001, After Spongebob.

  • while i agree that spongebob was the downfall of nick i think nick was officially gone in 2005 when nick studios closed and all that ended

  • I don't think any of that stuff is there anymore :(

  • does this part of the nick studios still exist there at universal studios? im asking cuz my friends and i r planning on going summer of 2010 and it would be great if we could actually see what's left of the awesomeness that once was nick

  • The buildings are still there (see the video).

There are parts of the buildings (not open to the public) that haven't changed since Nickelodeon left. The current users have left things as-is. Even the public can see a few things from Nickelodeon in the general areas.

  • i remember i went there in '97 when i when i was 7.. that was awesome there.. wtf BLUE MAN GROUP??!!!???

  • I remember when I was like 5 or 6 I went to Universal Studios and seeing the Nickelodeon Studios. I wish I could have gone in and now they replaced it. I mean really. :(

  • Did u see any Legends Of The Hidden Temple Props?

  • what a shame...r those props still there? if so where r they? im moving to orlando next year so im curious

  • are you serious about being an cartoonist for nickelodeon and DC

  • i miss it

  • Universal Studios need the buildings to generate money. Towards the end, the buildings just sat there and very few people stopped by to visit. No visitors = no money.

There was nothing to indicate that turning the buildings into a museum would attract more visitors.

  • they should have used the old nick studios and made it into a museum for the old nick!

  • serioussly since nickelodeon moved form orlando it became really gay ...

its like damn it makes u sad..

  • that because Nickelodeon is copying off the Disney Channel. I was really boried on day so I decided to check out Hannah Montana to what the fuss is about anyway the whole time I was watching it I realize that ICarly is just a copy off Hannah Montana

  • seriously, DIsney use to be about entertain kids and so was nickelodeon but NOW its all about making money like every freakin person has to be a singer and sing on Disney, the 3 main characters from stupid hannah montana all havesongs and so does every perosn on disney ! and nickelodeon is turning into the same

    it sucks..

  • I think they got rid of Nickelodeon studios, because Nick was no longer making show there, but they could have replaced it with a more exiting attraction.

  • I have a Grand Opening Geyser Button on Ebay if anyone is interested. I found an extra one . Do a search under

Nickelodeon Studios Geyser Grand Opening Button 1990

  • doesn't it make you wanna cry? i heard the time capsule was relocated to the nick hotel. u should check it out

  • Another thing, they should've done what they did when they closed the Back to the Future Ride, when they left the DeLorean up. They should've at least relocated the Slime Geyser to another area in the park, perhaps near the Jimmy Neutron Ride, or at the nick hotel, where the time capsule is. *sigh*..oh well. I bet they just took the slime geyser and put it in a landfill or something....

  • I was able to go to Universal Studios a couple weeks ago. I finally saw the old building in person. It looks so melancholy now...

  • I got so pissed, I finally got to Orlando in June 2005, so excited about going to Nickelodeon Studios, then I get there and it is shut down, it shut down 2 months before I got there. And you uploaded this on my birthday. :)

  • I nevere thought it was possible for trees to TAKE life, but the trees where the slime fountain used to be proved me otherwise. :_(

  • I was one of the lucky ones, I first when to Nickelodeon Studios in 95'(I was only three at the time though) and up until it closed i'd say i went there at least 12 times, because i live only about 2 hours from Orlando

  • This is great. What happened to Nick that it changed?

  • Nickelodeon's target audience lost interest in game shows, but wanted more scripted shows and animation.

Because actors wanted to stay close to Hollywood CA, Nickelodeon could not schedule any shows for the Orlando facility. Nickelodeon also purchased an animation facility in Burbank CA for cartoon production.

Nickelodeon soon realized that the time had come to close Nickelodeon Studios and focus on the types of programs that their viewers wanted.

  • so then why did not hold auditions in the orlando area? Actors did not want to move from Hollywood does not mean that Nickelodeon could have open auditions in the orlando area. They could have found new actors for their shows. They don't have to use the actors over again.

  • In order to attract the most number of possible viewers, the various studios and the networks need to use actors that are well known by the viewers.

If a cast of unknowns was hired to star in a show, chances are that fewer people will watch.

  • We already heard you the first two times!

  • I went there in 98 and my brother go to get slimed! it was pretty funny, but probably not worth it to him in the end haha

  • ROCKET POWER GREATEST SHOW EVA

  • appropriate background music!

  • i was ther in 2004 i looked in and saw like ren and stimpy on the walls and bleachers and stuff and the gesyer wasnt going or anything. it was sad to see my childhood fade away into the poo man group

  • Blue Man Group had nothing to do with what happened to Nickelodeon Studios. The complex was empty for 18 months before BMG entered into the picture.

Nickelodeon closed the facility because viewers lost interest in the shows that were recorded there and the number of visitors to the facility dropped way down.

Also, Nickelodeon could not create new shows for the Studios because celebrities refused to move from California to Orlando.

  • Dude! No one cares what you think!

  • i hate the blue man group now. For even thinking about buying that for themselves is just... GOD!

  • Nickelodeon had been gone for 18 months before Universal announced that Blue Man Group was going to use part of the complex.

If it wasn't for BMG and other organizations, chances are the buildings would have been demolished and the land used for other purposes.

  • No one is going to listen to you!

  • who is ass hole sold Nickelodeon the Studios to the crappy group

  • Posers They killed the Nickelodeon Studios

  • @brodiger the Blue Man Group had nothing to do with Nickelodeon Studios closing down

  • @90sfanforever Oh guess your right

  • They could have left the geyser up at least! Bastards!

  • yea they should have left the geyser up

as a momeriul or however u say that word but did they no wat F*** load of F***

  • first they took back to the future the ride and now that why i hated when they just don't tell us any more

  • this is a great video, i'm glad i found it because it gave me the chance to see the studio, for a final time..or at least whats left. I wish i had gotten back to orlando for vacation before it closed because this was like one of my favorite childhood memories i saw it in '99 and i had the time of my life..id still like to go see whats left but i feel like with the destruction of the studio a peice of my childhood is gone

  • i think universal had a big law sute with copyright crap

  • The buildings weren't sold.

Nickelodeon closed the facility and the buildings sat unused for about 18 months before Universal Studios announced that Blue Man Group would be moving in.

Since then, other groups have set up shop in other parts of the buildings. While the complex is no longer "Nickelodeon Studios", it is still there.

If it wasn't for BMG and the other organizations, Universal could have easily leveled the buildings and used the land for other purposes.

  • who sold Nickelodeon the Studios to the crappy group

  • this made me so sad. i went for new years of 06 and didn't even realize it had been closed. i was addicted to nickelodeon as a kid

  • when and why did they close nick studios?

  • they close it down in 2005

  • Nickelodeon closed the Studios for several reasons:

    1) A lack of interest in the shows that were produced there.

    2) A severe drop-off in the number of people who stopped by for tours even on the days when the rest of Universal was packed.

    3) The inability to persuade celebrities to relocate from southern California to Orlando so new programs could be produced there.

Nickelodeon soon found itself with a top notch studio complex, but nothing to do inside of it.

  • We get it!

  • what was tape in studio 42?

  • Well there is supposedly a warehouse of props somewhere at universal or somewhere in Orlando. And the first season of hey dude is on itunes I just bought it. I would love to go see that set in Arizona! even though it's a bit trashed

  • in the video here, how did the guy get to see the props, ive beent trying to find and i wanted to see the props,

  • Wow they threw away the red shoe.. do you own any props bigyodatheman? This was when they were completely done with the studios? What other stories do you have from working there?

  • The time capsule is supposedly located just outside the main entrance of the hotel.

As I understand it, the rule about not being able to enter unless you are staying is for the safety of all the children inside.

  • I was part of the crew that cleaned out the soundstage. Whatever props we found left over we either took to keep for ourselves, or it was thrown away.(the famous double dare giant red shoe was brought over to Twister's office, where I heard they eventually just got rid of it) It was definitely a weird experience stripping down the studio having grown up with Nick as a kid.

  • i don't know why there shady, there could be a lot of lies behind it all. Like I read somewhere online a guy who worked there, he said something about the time capsule- that there's not anything really even under it!!! couldn't believe my ears. I would def like to see a picture of it at the nick hotel! I tried to go to the nick hotel once but they won't let you in unless you're staying at the hotel. More shadiness!

  • I think I have the same pogo stick as the one at 3:30. xD

  • i hate to say this, but they got rid of all the old logos and replaced them with logos from the more modern shows (zoey 101, unfabulous and the naked brothers band.) although i can't entirely say i'm surprised.)

  • at least some nick is left there

  • The props that that kid filmed are in the Nickelodeon store at Universal. Nickelodeon auctioned off alot of props on Ebay years ago, BUT, there is a warehouse of props somewhere (don't know where) and I will tell you that people at universal are VERY shady about nickelodeon props and and the prop warehouse, they are very secretive about all things Nickelodeon, it is really interesting...

  • Why are they shady about Nickelodeon props? Do you think that they could up to something? which would explain why they are very shady about the warehouse.

  • the show What Would You Do? made me want to go there so bad, but i never had the chance.

  • yeh actually theyre shooting guts again i dont no where they gonna shoot it but its called my family got guts something like that. im totally not lying search it up

  • GUTS is already done. I went to a couple of the tapings. Unfortunately due to a lame wrestling federation infestation, they couldn't do it in their original soundstage so they did it in the smaller Stages 23 and 24. 23 had everything except for the Aggro Crag and they never had an audience for that so that we wouldn't give it away here or elsewhere on the Internet. I wish I could have seen even if only for a few minutes.

  • LOL That infestation is TNA Wrestling now but that company is starting to become a little sad too since there trying to be like WWE

  • true

  • @piper05 no tna is better then wwe now but when wwe was wwf back in the day it's was good

  • @ecwforever tna is better then wwe right now

  • i hate the blue man group.... they're not even cool....

  • i never got to see it

  • :( Maybe one day...

  • aww. its weird to see all those shows like noah knows best and all that.

  • dude i would of stole the all that sign

  • where is the sign at in the vid?

  • this put me to tears

  • what did they do with all the old stuff. yah think they sold it?

  • Acctualy buddy Sponge Bob is.If you were a die hard nick fan, every show was a classic.

  • Why did nick studios close?

  • Interest in the types of programs taped at the studios dropped after the year 2000.

The number of people visiting the studios for tours also dropped way off even on days when the rest of Universal Studios was packed.

Celebs needed to star in programs resisted relocating from southern California to Orlando.

Faced with all this (and maybe other issues not made public), Nickelodeon probably felt that the studios had run their course and decided to close up shop and exit Orlando.
