  • Aww bless him. Well done for rescuing him.

  • I named this disease PBFD and continue to seek answers for it and feel I am much closer to being able to help many, especially via quantum. see my websites pbfdcircovirus or its twin psittacinebeakfeatherdisease and also cockatoohealth dotcom

  • Aw, he's gone. =((( Made the better choice. Bless you guys for doing what you could for him. <3

  • Breaks my heart. =( Poor baby.

  • WHAT THE FUCK!?

  • @friezafullpower1 ....He has a disease.

  • Featherless birds somehow combine ungliness, cuteness and sadness I think.

Mostly sadness. Then cuteness. Ugliness is way down there, but as much as I want to, I can't deny that it's there.

  • omg he looks like a baby cockatoo :)

  • you are doing great with ur parrot, i myself am a parrot owner and vet, youre doing great, it peaple like you that give these lovely birds a real life, just keep her happy, and give her a big x from charline.

  • I hope everything good for your adorable bird and for you, who takes care of him!

  • Did u see the vid where they put a little sweater on a cockatoo. I think they made it out of an arm of an old sweater. It just fit over the bird like a bib. One sweater looked like a turtleneck sweater on the U2. It was cute! Kept him warm, he was a long time feather plucker.

  • G-d makes Bibs Beautiful!

  • What a lovely bird! Cute ^^

  • its not always how pretty u are on the out side it mostly counts wat on in the inside to lol =D

  • Aw bless him, can they recover fully from beak and feather disease? x

  • God bless you Bibbie

  • About the beak, you can trim it yourself if you want! Just have someone to restrain his wings and legs & use a dog nail clipper to trim the beak to the desired length.

Our cockatoo happens to suffer from a similar condition, hence some experience from our part. Good luck & greetz from NL.

  • Ah bless hes little heart! hes beautiful...

  • Aww, what a cute little nudie. :3

  • Maybe you could make a little sweater for him or something? He'd look adorable, and you wouldn't have to worry about him getting cold since he has no feathers! =)

  • Poor guy

  • Poor little bird T-T At lease you give him love

  • I will pray for Bibbie to start healing. Please give him love and hugs from me, Baby and Beenie :)))

  • How cute! I want him <3

  • AWESOME! I just luv thos things not mattering how they look! :D

  • Beautiful bird <3 I love it

  • aweh poor birdie:(

  • Condolences for the passing of Bibbie. Sweet Bibbie is now whole and as she should be in Heaven.

Nikita and lovebirds Janu & Mahi.

  • I just wanted to send my thoughts to the owners of Bibbie, a very special bird indeed. Over the rainbow bridge now, free and happy, thank you so much for loving and caring for Bibbie and for sharing. I am so very sorry - I cannot express how sorry . With love and light

Susan and Spoggy the Sparrow in Tasmania xxxx

  • my tears freely flowed thank you wildlifeguardian for the share 5/5 and a fave. this bird is now flying freely through the forrest, full of feather, and happy as all get out FT

  • Isn't it always the birds with physical disabilities and illnesses that turn out to have an extra helping of sweetness from God? I just heard that Bibbie passed...so sad for you. But Bibbie is flying and fully feathered in heaven now...good for Bibbie.

Irena Schulz - Bird Lovers Only

  • Oh, precious brave little Bibs, you will be so missed -- fly with the angels and sing for them now that your body is whole and fully feathered again...RIP...

    ~January 25, 2010~

  • All birds are beautiful, even the naked ones. I'm touched that you see that, and love that you've given Bibbie a good home.

  • will he grow his feathers back?.

this bird looks really cute. its great that some 1 was caring enough and took him home i would do that 2

  • It's really great of you to take in a bird like Bibbie. I hope he has a long and comfortable life.

  • Most people dnt know how loving birds really can be, they just want them because they look pretty....so thank you for loving a bird who wouldnt have a chance without someone like you!! Ive never seen a bird with a prob like this before but once you get past the plucked chicken look you can see how adorable he really is!! lol

  • Even though he only has so few feathers, he's still adorable in my eyes. :3

  • Awh, he's totally hideous and naked.

This is a terrible disease...it sucks all he could eat was bread, since there really isn't much nutritional value that birds need in bread.

It's really good of you to take her in, and I hope everything goes well for both of you. ^^

  • you need to shut up you big bully

  • How am I being a bully? By saying that a naked bird is hideous? I'm sorry, but I think a bird that doesn't have any feathers is a bit funny looking. It's kind of funny that you would bitch at me because I said a bird was hideous, and not what I said about how this was a good person for taking him in, and how I hope that everything goes well for both of them.

    Jeez, you're so negative.

  • for one thing you are picking on the poor bird

  • @robbiebratc who is? O_o

  • sorry no good bastard why dont you

    back off

  • No good bastard? I was just stating the obvious. He IS pretty hideous. I didn't say anything bad. Why don't you bitch at someone that deserves it?

  • the word used to describe the bird on your part was a bad choice, and someone could take it as a offensive statement about him.

I personally dont think the bird is 'Hideous' just a bit naked is all.

  • you are picking on a nice bird

    looks aint everything you know

  • Wow, you're still on this, aren't you?

    Grow up.

  • wellwhydont you growup.leavemybrother alone.this is his sister.

  • Okay, you know what, I'm going to end this right now. You obviously are just an immarute little child if you think that me saying that a bird is hideous is worth starting a HUGE argument over.

The last thing I'm going to say is that I REALLY don't think that this bird cares that I think he's hideous. So niether should you.

    Good day.

  • good but if anyones a child its you

jackass that bird does care too

if anyone dont care its you you jurk

and im the one thats gonna end this

  • Still beautiful!

  • thats sad:( hope he gets better

  • Hes adorable! i hope he gets better soon.

  • Oh yes, this is PBFD, but its well looked after despite the disease. its uncurable. Poor darling, but at least she is happy, and enjoying her life. :)

  • aawe ^^ he´s adorable:O

  • Awe that poor little guy. I'm glad he's doing better now! I still think he is very adorable! Give him some love for me :)

  • what a shame but at least he has you !

  • what a sweeeeetey!!

  • at least he's ok.

  • hehe aww he is sooocute! :D

  • omg that was the cutest iwe seen in a while :D

  • He does do a good job, as does the lady vet if she happens to be there. Mind you I make it as hard as I can for them. They ignore my screeches though I still hope - but I wriggle and grab onto things a lot. The towel round me makes even that hard and they put me on my back so they can get my beak.. I stare them in the eye and try to tell them I hate them. And then, once back in my cage, my "hook" has gone and I can't climb till I get used to it again. But I can eat and it feels good.

  • @cicciethebird Such a lovely bird, I feel sad for him.But you did the best thing you could R.I.P.

  • Hello little Bibbie you precious bird! How are you feeling? Your beak looks beautiful, your vet does a very good job there for you!

    Tickles and scritches from Anniebirdy

  • Bibbie has a viral parrot disease called Psittacine Beak and Feather Syndrome or Disease. Feathers vanish and are abnormal if there are any, and beak overgrows. Immunity to disease vanishes. In the wild he would be dead. He has to have vet trim his beak back every month or so.

  • What happened to Bibbie's feathers poor baby

  • Oh Bibble! You are adorable! God bless you and your kind people who you own :)

  • He is not feather p[lucking. He has Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (or syndrome) which causes loss of feathers and overgrown beak. Diagnosed by the vet. I suggest you look it up. It is an untreatable and unpreventable virus, very infectious to other parrots and ultimately kills them especially in the wild - he cannot fly and without regular vet intervention his beak would be so overgrown he could not eat and it would be dug well through his chest.

  • Feather plucking is not a physical disiese. Hes bored not stimulated. They need lots of time and care. Get a good book on Parrots and read it.

  • Not all plucking is behavioral. The extent of plucking on this bird definately suggests some type of desease.

  • Maybe you should get a book on Parrots and read it because this bird has PBFD, look it up on google...

  • Comment removed

  • If you looked at the previous comments you would see that they KNOW the bird has PBFD, and that he is under the regular care of a vet.

Bibble is very lucky to have such great parents!

Before people complain about mistreatment or whatever, at least try to read the previous comments or history before you accuse.

  • Hes adorable!!!!

  • So bibbie, is Totaly Normal Mentaly like Any Other cockatoo, but she's got The Physical disiese.ok.

    thats Sad :/

Well. You Still Love Bibbie For The Way She is and not What She looks like ? =D xD

  • oh and if you rescue a bird, know that you will need to devote your life to him or her, birds are highly sensitive and intelligent and needy like a human kid and aren't meant to be cooped up and neglected.

  • Bibs has to live alone in the sense no parrot family near him or they will ctch his disease too. I have found blackbirds int eh mitcehn daily when the door is left open in sumjmer.. obviously come to visit him! He spends most of his time int hekitchen so sees a lot of me and can look out the window at the back yard - vegetables, trees, animals and birds as well as flowers etc. Me too, at times. If I am going out, I put the television on for him - he likes to watch that.

  • Thank you for rescuing a bird in need! <3

Birds should be in the wild, not in cages. If you want a companion bird, rescue one instead of getting it from a breeder or pet shop.

  • Where would one go about "rescuing" a bird then? Not just for me, it would be good for everyone to know.

  • soon a rain forest will only be shown on a screenon a tv or computer.. what do you thinki will say next

  • I'm guessing not, but does the disease have any affects on humans? Give him a big kiss from me!

  • The vet assures me it has no effect on humans. Bibs has resided with me for about 20 months now - no ill effects noted in my health!

  • yes indeed it is VERY contagious. It is in the wild parrot family populations too. I like to look at birds - at the soo and so on,, and pet cockies at pet shops etc but I stay well back these days in case the virus is on me and they get it. I'd be asking a vet for more definitive advise it you still hanker after resucing one..

  • is the disease contagious? if not i would like to rescue a parrot like this. i have a quaker and i don't want her to get it. prove that beauty is on the inside like bibbie.

  • He has a blog too - bibbiebird at blogspot from memory. that gets updated more often than th videos - but basically he is just the same, a bit more cheeky perhaps! He tends to want almost anything he sees me eating these days unlike when he first came here and would not eat anything but bread and a bit of seed, and perhaps a tiny bit of apple cut so thinly you could read the newspaper through it.

  • Oh I just love Bibbie!! Keep up the great caring for this lovely faby!!!

  • its sad that 60% of sulphur crest cockatoos end up like this, i think im having the same problem with my cockatoo also, its a disease that attack the feather an beak, there is no cure for this disease, its good to see that bibbie gets looked after.

  • He is doing much better than the vet expected. Sad it gets all parrot family birds. I avoid budgies now in casee the virus is on me. Keep your cocky warm and give him a good diet, Bbibs a jacket but he hates anything touching his body, dragging against the "goose bumps" and tiny quills where his feathers should be. So - the room is kept warm for him. On nice days in summer he spends some time in his special cage outdoors. I hope your cocky does well.

  • kuikiiii i am a sexy bird! :) sweeeeeet!

  • Blog link is not correct.

  • kewl bird!the bird i cute man. a man god bless.0:)

  • Bless you and this sweet birdy!

  • hope he gets better mate, hes cool

  • I'm so sorry that your bird has such a bad disease. But to know that you love him featherless and sick is truley amazing. Most people wouldn't have bought him.You are a very nice person to adopt him!Best of wishes to both of you!

  • He's a white sulphur crested cockatoo. Or at least, we all think so and the bits of fluff and the one feather he has bears this out. there are plenty flying round outside in the wild round here, along with other cockatoos. I don't think we have macaws in Australia.. Bibby has a blog, think it is bibbiethebird at blogspot - and there are photos of some wild black cockatoos in the neighbour's trees - also a parrakeet in my apricot tree last year.

    bib's Mum, Dawn

  • pooor thing!

  • aww poor baby

  • poor baby...

  • What a doll!

  • hey i hope your bird is better and god bless your adorible bird :)

  • omg he is so adorable!!!

  • He's soooo beautiful!!! I'm glad he's doing better...

  • beautiful

  • Bald is beautiful. It's obvious he's very happy.

  • He is beautiful. Do you have to do anything with the temerature in the house since he has nothing to keep him warm?

  • He basically lives inside, and if it is warm for me it is warm for him. we don't get snow here, so.. I light the wood fire stove in the room, or if in a hurry, light the gas space heater in the lounge room and let it flow through. whilst I was away he had an electric heater int here which could stay on with no-one to watch it. He has a thick quilted cover to his internal cage so that keeps him free from draughts too, and snug. He usually feels warmer than me to touch anyway!

  • Fucking people are ignorant as hell. ADD is going to be the downfall of this country. people cant even take the time to read the description and get all maniacal thinking the owners are bad.

  • Fucking people are ignorant as hell. ADD is going to be the downfall of this country. people cant even take the time to read the description and get all maniacal thinking the owners are bad.

  • omg do some people not read the owners explaination of why the parrot doesnt have feathers..he has a disease n is nothing to do with being treated badly. He is still beautiful though. Good for u for taking him in and looking after him. Me and my 3 parrots send Bibbie a big hug n lots of love!

  • Hope you are joking! Vet said when he first saw him - the dy after he arrived to liver with me - he was in very poor condition. now, a year later, he is much better and doing well - vet is surprised he is still alive. Bibs is doing better and better. He has beak and feather disease, will never get feathers back or stop his bek overgrowing, incurable, viral, in wild parots too - but he does n=have more stubble and downy feathers than he used to.

  • Oh good, glad to hear it...never know with some people.

  • Wow, only seeds...? That's terrible.

  • that is so sad!!! i feel so bad for that angel now! does the feathers just fall out or does he pick them out???

  • Hello from Romania (somewhere in Europe),hope the parrot is a lot better now.Sweet kisses from me and my 8 parrots.

  • dude be with that bird more

hes super lonely JUST LOOK AT HIM

  • Bibbie is NOT lonely at all! He has a WONDERFUL family and LOTS of friends who love him and take good care of him! Check out his Blog Site for more info: bibbiebird(DOT)blogspot(DOT)com!

  • Is he on a full seed diet. You should add some pellets to that and tons of fresh raw veggies like Borccoli and Carrots, and apples for the pectin (no apple seeds, they contain cyanide) Prayers going up for improvement.

  • aw, hes so sweet. you're wonderful for giving him a chance.

    :)

    a happy story!

  • Bibbie has another fan! Kiss that lovely face of his for me, will ya? xxx

peace, love and blessings to you x

  • That's very sad. Can he expect to live much longer with a health condition like that?

  • The vet first saw him at the end of January 2007 and thought he would not last this long, to be honest - but now, each time he goes to the vet for a beak trim he says he is doing very well. There is no treatment, not at this stage anyway. In years to come, who knows?

  • Oh my goodness! Poor fella must be cold for him. Thanks for caring so much to take him in and give him a loving home. I have a rescue Blue & Gold but not with beak and feather. Just with emotional scars which can be much worse in some cases.

  • Hey Bibbie it's Mooky... nice videos!

  • Bibbie is just beautiful and blessed to be a part of your family... prayers are with Bibbie and your family.. Cindy

  • Hello Angel and Bella and Balterin

It is nice to have so many friends all over the world! I live in Melbourne Australia and it is getting towards the end of winter. the Dog Angela here gets called Angel nd Angie, too, - there is a photo of her on the blog.

    Bibbie

  • I have 2 yellow cresteds at home, Angel and Bella. Your Bibbie is adorable!! please feel free to email or PM me with regular updates on how he is doing. I will join up on your blog too to follow his progress!!

  • Bless you for all the care and love you put in Bibbie. He didn't ask for that horrible disease, may good karma find it's way to you.

  • Our thoughts are with you and yours. Please keep us up to date. I will make sure Carrie (wife) hears about this. She has done some research on this maybe she can send you some links that will help

  • Thank you - Bibbie is pleased to know so many people like him and wish him well! He has a blog, bibbiethebird at blogspot but don't think I can put the URL here and have it get through the system.

  • How brave you are :) I have a lot of respect for you looking after Bibbie as his parents. I know something like this would emotionally cripple me.

I wish you all the love in the world.

  • I am sending you some information via private message on YouTube. It's supplements I give my birds, and maybe it can be helpful to Bibbie. I didn't want to post it here because I am not a salesman, I'm just a bird lover.

  • I should also say, he is not in pain. If that were the case we would put him out of his misery. But the vet says he is actually doing brilliantly well compared to when we rescued him earlier this year. Eg: his beak is now strong enough to eat seed again, when we first adopted him he could only manage bread. We think that a few feathers are also growing back, although it is an incurable disease and he's unlikely ever to fully recover

  • Are you aware how seriously ill your parrot is? This is really tragic.

  • Yes, sadly. He has a blog - bibbiethebird on blogspot can't post URL in youtube. More details there. Visits vet regularly.
