wow. I really like this, but the only thing that's bothering me is the deers anatomy. It's almost like a dogs :| the femur is too long for a deer and the neck is a little bit too short..

The shalkat looks mostly like a tiger/lynx but for some reason when i look at it closely i see some canine in its body structure. sorry i take my fictional animals VERYYYYYYYYY seriously for my age. :(

@Blackearedwolf no, you take the layer which you are using for shading and lock it. If you have copied the shading layer from the original base layer like I did for this speedpaint, you will be able to shade the animal without going over the lines

@LittleJackAss1111 Uhh you can't buy a speedpaint o.0 A speedpaint is a painting done quickly with time taking priority over quality, however it has now extended to also mean a recorded painting that has been sped up like the one in this video, You make speedpaints, not buy them

Sorry to bother you but how come when you use paintbucket the lineart stays black but when I use it my lineart changes to a darker version of the colour I'm using even though I use pencil and not paintbrush?

That was amazing! I wish I knew how to do all that shadows and high lights stuff. I usually just use a black airbrush and do my shadows like that. Then I erase outside the outline. I can't figure out how to fill in the base colour all at once. (I use photoshop)

@VitaNuovaRevolution sort of - you basically copy the layer containing the base colour and then lock it. Then erase the whole thing to make it white and start drawing over it in black to create the shadows ^^

Hmm,....this is kinda' random, but is it ( the Shalkat) a mix of = wolf, tiger, linx, and........a bit sabertooth? But ANYWAYS, I don't care WHAT THIS THING IS, 'cause I LOVE IT!! Hmm I guess you could say it is a mix of those things, but tbh I didn't really think about it when I was designing them - I knew it was going to live in both the jungle and the mountains so I wanted a species that looked able to live in both, and that was also nice to look at which resulted in this ^^ They come in a few different colours - from dark brown to light grey/white

@Bloodstar9900 All brushes have the opacity feature - or at least all forms or airbrush, paintbrush and pencil have it. There's a tab for it whenever you select the brush tool ^^

@sketchwolfeh Thank you ^^ The deer's other hind leg only partially shows (you can see the knee joint infront of the closer leg) but the rest of it is hidden by the animal's other leg and back. In my original sketch I tried a few different things with the leg, trying to make it more visible but it just ended up looking really awkard.

As for Photoshop, I am honoured by your asking for help, but colouring is a huge subject so unless there's something really specific, I'm afraid I can't help :(

@HawkStarRoxs I use the airbrush, or if you use Photoshop CS4, the soft paintbrush. There are only 3 default sizes, 100px, 200px and 300px so you have to resize them, but they are really usefull for soft shading ^^
