@Rrivers411 Unfortunately, it's not my truck...just randomly videoed it at a car show...I checked, and there's no phone number on that "for sale" sign, so I can't say..but I videoed this 10 months ago. Sorry I couldn't help! Jack
Very cool cars.. Or should I say trucks?? Either way, if GM and FoMoCo would have added a four-wheel-drive system for these, that would have been revolutionary.
@Sarcasticscum Hey, Nathan! Yeah...a four wheel drive system would have been a bonus..and increased the market for the vehicles. Australians never gave up on this type vehicle, calling them utes! Very cool cars/trucks!
@Seattlecarnut Hey, Jason! This was actually the last year of production for the truck. It's a shame they didn't continue them longer! Thanks! :) Jack
@raconter1 I agree. Not everyone needed a full-sized pickup truck like those sold by Chevrolet and Ford's F series, but need/want something with a bed to carry hay, lawn mower, etc.
@Seattlecarnut Hey, Jason! Indeed...they are/were very useful. Most homeowners have needed a vehicle like this at one time or another! Thanks! :) Jack
@Seattlecarnut Hey, Jason! I can only guess....my guess is that it competed with truck sales at both Chevy and Ford. Plus, it had to be a compromise, using a unit body car chassis as underpinnings, not the ideal for what we would consider a "truck". Dodge also had a small front wheel drive vehicle with a cargo bay in back..that didn't last long in the lineup. Thanks! :) Jack
$9500 seems like a reasonable price for what looks like a car/truck in very nice shape. This might have been the last year for Chevy El Camino which would have had a run for about 29 years. This concept gave you a very stylish hauler.
@cheddyrod Hey, Chester! I thought it was very reasonably priced..and I love the practicality of the vehicle. I don't know why it's still not produced. Thanks! :) Jack
@raconter1

Nice looking truck. Chevy actually made ElCaminos this late? I thought they quit making them back in 1980-81.
