No he didn't. A band called the highwaymen made the song. The band consisted of four country legends as we know them today. The song is written by a gentleman called Johnny Web but was sung by the four band members Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. They sang together from 1985 to 1995.

I normally like Cranius work. There are a few pieces I didn't but music is very personal. Matter a fact I used to work with someone wanting me to get back in the game after I beta tested it. It wasn't a great experience but it looked like people were banding together and having fun and that was the only thing I liked about this game. So after watching one of Cranius movies I got back into it. It's been mostly enjoyable. Thanks for your work Cranius.
