I don't have a problem with people owning guns but there's a pervasive misconception out there that the 2nd Amendment is about private protection, vigilantism, resisting bad gov't, or hunting. I don't have a problem with people owning guns but there's a pervasive misconception out there that the 2nd Amendment is about private protection, vigilantism, resisting bad gov't, or hunting. Read the 2nd Amend. It says it right there. The motivation is to have an armed militia. No standing armies. It's like the evangelicals misinterpreting parts of the Bible.
"Shall not be infringed" also means children, elderly, criminals, and mentally unstable can have guns. Children did used to carry guns.
