  • Looks like Jim finally quit hell-raising and settled down to a nice steady job teaching guitar.Good for him.

  • yucky his nails are creepy

  • This sounds like the CORRECT picking style for this song. GREAT JOB!

    Thank You Johnny.

  • Wow! I first learned how to play Blackbird in 1968 right after the White Album was released. My best friend was a guitar teacher and figured it out right away. For the last 40 years it has been my signature piece. I always play it when I want to impress someone. However, what I was playing did not match what I heard on the record, but Icould not figure out how to play it properly. This guy has the letter perfect correct way of playing Blackbird. nsjohhy, I love you, Thanks so much.

  • Did he just say at 41 seconds " and then f*ck the open g-string with your index finger?"

  • @DarkTemplar177 i'm almost shure that's... correct!

  • @nsjohnny he says: "and then PLUCK the open g string with your index finger..."

  • am surprised u can even pluck the strings with the length of your nails

  • Thank you, you filled me in on the blank spots.

  • it would help if I could hear you play the version entirely and then the lesson.

  • Awesome instruction, from Jim Morrison's little brother!

  • are those... fake nails?

  • "this was one of many tracks to appear on the classic white album", what a strange thing to say. Yes there are usually many tracks on an album.

Great video lesson by the way, thanks!

  • What is the name of this instructional video? It's really good.

    Buena leccion.

  • Isn't this Rusty Anderson? He toured as Paul McCartney's guitarist on the 2002 U.S. tour. If not, he looks very similar to him.

  • that's not him, but he does looks similar

  • -this is the best blackbird lesson on the internet! thanks very much nsjohnny!!

you teach very well. the best.

  • Jim Morrison is alive!!!!

  • rofl

  • This video is very helpful in learning to play "Blackbird." Good articulation in the right hand. Maybe folks will understand the purpose of those nails.

  • this guy scares the shit out of me, but none the less good stuff

  • That finger strumming technique at the 10 12 fingering is prone to making your fingernails crack or snap. It's easier and more accurate to play the notes individually. Paul MCarthy used to do that and he complained about his finger snapping off!
