it was much more than that man , MC5 understood and loved the blues,, funk ,, hard rock,,the politics of their time,, race issues and big city corruption,, the Uk punk scene was three good bands and a gang of thick fucking morons following em,,
Check out the Epiphone website for the Wiltshire.. Fred Smith is playing some sort of Rickenbacker fitted with a Gibson PAF pickup. They used odd guitars. Smith usually played a Mosrite and Wayne Kramer usually had a Strat painted in the stars and stripes with a PAF in the mid position.
Yeah, well, this is usually a super-long song, and I think they were trying to squeeze it in, an ad-libbed compressed version, and they were just trying to wrap it up as soon as possible.
This is from the late-period Five, when they hired an English bass player, the superb Derek Hughes. (Michael Davis was too strung-out on heroin to play.)
After that, the the greatest band of all time collapsed.
HAHAHAHA - Just found out WTF Black to Comm actually means! Kinda-sorta almost makes Sonis's intro make perfect sense. LOL What a GREAT version this is - even with the Fuck-Up at the end. This is one of my all-time fav songs, period. Great share Fritz!
Hey - satalitesarespinning - agree. Best version ever! That it's short 'cause they fucked up at the end just means I'll watch it a few more times! Ha Ha Ha
You're welcome, Spacemen 3.
