I don;t think she killed her kid. You know, there are some people who sit in a court with the actual people who did the crime, they look at evidence to find out what has really happened. These people have FAAAAAR more recourses available to look at the incident from all angles then you can ever imagine. The jury made the right decision. There simply wasn't enough evidence to convict her, and she had a good lawyer obviously. Judicial system isn't about justice, it's about having the option to get away with shit. It's not a perfect system but it's better than judging by emotions. What if everyone suddenly started judging emotionally? How many innocent people would be in prison? The media had already convicted her before the trial. Jury did the right thing by sticking to the evidence they had.

The confusion on the jury's part was their ignorance on the true meaning of reasonable doubt. There is a difference between reason TO doubt and reasonable doubt. The defense attorney's crazy theories were not reasonable and there was no evidence whatsoever to support them.
@yoursh1966 All of the evidence were circumstantial. Neither side had a strong case, but it's worse for the prosecution in such cases. There's this thing called "the presumption of innocence". They never stood a chance to convict her without some strong evidence. It was painfully obvious from the start. I'm not saying she didn't do it. She probably did, but the jury can't decide based on their gut feeling.

My personal opinion is that the kid was accidentally killed while the dad was raping the baby. She was screaming and he tried to keep her quiet with his hand, a pillow, or duct tape and she suffocated.
The father then told Casey that she was kidnapped. Told her if she went to the police then the kid would get killed. He played the waiting game so the evidence of his abuse vanished as the body decomposed.

There was no physical evidence nor any eye witnesses to the murder. It was all circumstantial evidence. While it looks like she is guilty, there is reasonable doubt due to lack of evidence.

You can't make judgements on a case based on previous cases though. You can't say others are put away from circumstantial evidence so she should be too. It shouldn't be that way.

There cannot be any reasonable doubt for them to drop a guilty verdict. If anyone is at fault is the prosecutors for wasting people's time and money taking this to court when they didn't have enough evidence to convict her or murder.
To the best of my knowledge chloroform was never found, only searches for chloroform on the internet, which would make it circumstantial. The smell of a dead body is not circumstantial but direct evidence, however the police did find trash in the trunk of the car, which the defense pointed out. So then the jury had to decide how credible the witness was at differentiated between rotting trash, and rotting corpses. The witness was not a professional when it came to corpses.

The confusion on the jury's part was their ignorance on the true meaning of reasonable doubt. There is a difference between reason TO doubt and reasonable doubt. The defense attorney's crazy theories were not reasonable and there was no evidence whatsoever to support them.

They never stood a chance to convict her without some strong evidence. It was painfully obvious from the start. I'm not saying she didn't do it. She probably did, but the jury can't decide based on their gut feeling.

My personal opinion is that the kid was accidentally killed while the dad was raping the baby. She was screaming and he tried to keep her quiet with his hand, a pillow, or duct tape and she suffocated.
The father then told Casey that she was kidnapped. Told her if she went to the police then the kid would get killed. He played the waiting game so the evidence of his abuse vanished as the body decomposed.
Casey was his scapegoat.

Here's the deal, the woman should have been proclaimed guilty. For one, neglect of the child. Yeah, she could be crazy and just not care about her kid, but that's awkward. Second, trunk smell, duct tape; what else did they think happened? Is it possible someone else murdered the child? Yes, because anything is. Did anything point in the direction of SOMEONE ELSE? We have the SAME situation up here in Canada, at this very moment. A man who stabbed to death his 2 children has just been pronounced not guilty for cause of psychological disorder. He is sentenced to spend 3 months in a mental institution (he was a doctor, BTW) and be evaluated and monitored, after wich if he is find to not be a danger to society, he will be released to be free, like nothing happened. Probably the reason she got off the hook is because she's "valuable" - a book deal like the Palin's have, made-for-TV movies. It won't be long until this woman is firing off her mouth at the "mee-dya" and dancing with the D-list stars.

Sorry, Tommy I disagree. Could she have done it? Hell Yes, was it proven? No. I watched the entire trial on the live feed. I applaud the Jury for standing by the Law and willing to face the wrath of the media that wanted to put her away and not using Emotion to rule their verdict.

@xxxMST3Kxxx Like i said it was my opinion, but if you watched the whole trial, the circumstantial eveidence was almost physical lol, you know what i mean, i think shes guilty, i saw the trial too, if i was on the jury i would of at least given her murder 2 or child negligence, i mean cmon , she get lying to the police? why lie? they were there to help, i know theres shadow of a doubt but look at all the things she did since the first day the baby was missing, very odd

There's a woman from my home town who got away with the same thing - then turned around and done it again with a 2nd kid - which she will probably do again too. I hope somebody castrates her!
Does anyone remember Wayne Williams from the 70's-80's? Even though he may have killed a couple black kids in Georgia, 30-40 murders were pinned on him. Supposedly the majority was killed by KKK and shady cops and were being protected - and they're still out there. One KKK praised the killings on tape.

There was no physical evidence nor any eye witnesses to the murder. It was all circumstantial evidence. While it looks like she is guilty, there is reasonable doubt due to lack of evidence.

@TOMMYfromtheBRONX and they shouldn't have been convicted on circumstantial evidence either. We aren't privy to what the jury saw and should respect their decision. Furthermore... why is this case getting so much attention? It is a distraction from the state of our nation which is causing poverty, illness, homelessness, suicides, etc. for MILLIONS. Watching your video has doubled the amount of attention I've given this case over the past three years.

You can't make judgements on a case based on previous cases though. You can't say others are put away from circumstantial evidence so she should be too. It shouldn't be that way.

@TOMMYfromtheBRONX What do other people "being in jail" have anything to do with this case? Circumstantial evidence is just that: Circumstantial. There cannot be any reasonable doubt for them to drop a guilty verdict. If anyone is at fault is the prosecutors for wasting people's time and money taking this to court when they didn't have enough evidence to convict her or murder.

To the best of my knowledge chloroform was never found, only searches for chloroform on the internet, which would make it circumstantial. The smell of a dead body is not circumstantial but direct evidence, however the police did find trash in the trunk of the car, which the defense pointed out. So then the jury had to decide how credible the witness was at differentiated between rotting trash, and rotting corpses. The witness was not a professional when it came to corpses.
