  • Great job! I play this too. It is full of tong twister fingerings. Keep up the great playing

  • i understand; will work on it and see; some pieces sound better in a higher fret; i play Couperin's Barricades in the 2nd, also Mudarra's Fantasia 10. The prelude seems a lot to work out; did it take you long?

  • @MrReinhardj well, i learned a lot with this piece (the suite actually) so, i think its good to take some time with this piece... i think it has for sure more tricky parts than prelude bwv 998 for example, but maybe this is individual...

  • Beautiful, very nice playing..i couldn't resist to download it and the notes from Classical Guitar Forum and start right away. It seems you prefer B minor to A, any reason? Now i read those commentaries below..

  • @MrReinhardj

    a 443 b is almost a "early music" c ... this and the fingerings-reasons why i put a capo on 2nd fret...

greets anf thx for the comment!!!

  • I like your playing. But why do you pump up your tags with all the big names? Are you suggesting you are in the same row? Hmm ...

  • Very nice work .Thumb up.J.C.

  • BRAVO!!!!!!

  • You're really great.

  • I'm normaly a rock guitar player but i just enjoy to listen to this great music.

  • isn`t it faster? anyway... great job =)

    tks for share

  • well played!

  • you play it in a swing... It changes the whole mellody

  • Umm... This isn't a swing... It's got a fair amount of rubato but there's no swinging in there

  • In D-minor ? Most seem to play it in A-minor, but it's nice to hear it in onather key...

  • I think it is actually being played in C-minor. The original suite was composed in C-minor for the lute, but is usually transcribed into A minor for guitar. Ronny is probably performing in C-minor to keep some originality of key.

  • @dracula126

that was one reason behind it.. i play capo 2nd fret . which my guitar tuned to 443 so it sounds to a "low" c-minor... besides thta i can play different (more musical) fingerings with stretchs because the frets are closer....

  • yes this suite is a testicle cruncher ;)

    Well played, very nicely done!

    Matt

  • how can i learn to play this?? please help me out so i can!!

  • Beautiful transcription and playing.

  • great music and one of the best 997 preludes on youtube. thanks! :)

  • i love this so much! Bach is genius!

  • Man.. Extremely clean and well played. I just started learning this piece... it's not easy:) but, after some months I hope I will master it!

    JSB rules!!

  • thx! just bought a baroque lute... so check in some time...i hope it´s gonna be even "closer" to the original sound! if you need any help for 997 let me know... :)

  • im working on this... it's a long ride xd...

  • hi! yes definitly one of the most difficult pieces i played (the whole suite is amazing beautiful, but amazing hard to play...)

  • nice job

  • Lovely...lots of expression and all the right fingerings..so the bass notes staying on nicely x

  • hello Ronny, lovel sound and a very good interpratation, i liked it, bravo, jarods

  • I love this piece and you do it nicely. Clean and consistent. Thanks for posting.

  • The passagens on 1:31 are very bold, well done. I just dont like the fast beggining, the entrance, I rather play it as and symphony, more slowly.

  • You have made my day !!

  • Sehr schön gespielt, Gratulation! JSB ist der Größte von Allen!

  • Super gespielt, schönes Video!

    Danke für's posten! :)

  • I love this piece. It's very difficult to play.I know because I've tried to get through it. In A minor though. In a year or so, I'll be able to make it sound like actual music. You've played it wonderfully. Hats off to you, sir.

  • nnnnnnnice!!! that must have taken a lot of effort, i liked it very much.

i want to learn that tune now :-)

  • YES!!! Beautifully done. I love this piece so much and you are definitely doing it justice. Thanks.

  • Yes, I play bach a lot (tends to take too much place in my concerts program, but I don't care!), and if I had to choose only 1 piece in all his luth works it would be 997 prelude... I have a spruce from Sato (1996) that sounds a bit like yours, that's why I asked ! Seems that the difference between materials sometime grow blurred...

  • Great moving, good thinking! I usely do not like the option of multiple strings fingerings, as the notes are confusing between themselves, but I have to say the result is very interesting here. The only thing for me is the 1st note, as I do not believe it's possible to make sound harmonic notes as part of the melody like normal notes : the sound is too different (the octave between the two 1st notes of the bass is not disturbing, I think). Anyway thanks a lot! Is the guitar in cedar or in spruce?

  • hi!

    its made by boguslaw teryks

he is an amazing guy, living in germany (close to frankfurt)

    amazing good guitars:-)

    cheers ronny

  • Is this a double top or just standard?

  • it´s a double top ....

  • What kind of guitar is this?

  • Exzellentes Video, vielen Dank Ronny!! Grüße

  • Very nice! Keep them coming. Though, you seem to be overcompensating because of the comments in a previous video about not wearing a shirt. Come on! Go au natural! If it was good enough for Lara St. John, it's good enough for you! :-)
