He's right. Sadly he's right. There'll be a vast majority of us however that know. that believe. That will always be looking, searching, demanding that one thing that the radio can never give us but bands like Queensryche have always given us. Keep giving guys.
What is he talking about? Rock is definitely the music of the times now. Maybe it's not the music of MTV and mainstream radio, but that's not necessarily, "the times." Turn in the towel dude.
@tatemalmsteen I don't... Culture in the USA and countries like it would be so much different, from the way people act, dress, look etc. music influences things big time, and so do those artists. The 80s were a different culture from the 90s and today due to the music scenes.
@SuRihtanil Yes but if something you love becomes too popular then it's not as special and will ultimately become a trend. I just saw Dream Theater and Maiden at a sold out arena event, and there were tons of kids there. I think rock music is actually doing fine. It's just not the gigantic corporate monster it was in the 80's.
hey Tate...any wine suggestions? (he is a wine enthusiast)...and btw...you are listed as one of the top metal vocalists of ALL TIME...did you ever complete the subliminal messages in advertising documentary? Zeitgeist baby!...your perfomance at MTV's 1991 music video awards (silent lucidity) was epic...thank you.
Still making a living playing rock after 30 years.... and complaining about rocks position in music... he should be thankful, not complaining... when Queensryche broke almost NOBODY was listening to a popular music form or specific musician, that started three decades prior... He should be thankful...
@hughdillon He didn't seem bitter about it and I don't think he was complaining. I think he was just giving an observation. I think it's cool that he can go from playing stadiums to night clubs and still be perfectly happy to do it.
How could somebody willingly choose to buy the M&M album or snoopy over Queensryche is beyond me,personally I prefer singing to rhyming and I like instruments over samples and lame synth patches;hiphop sux!!!!!!!!!!!

@deadlyorgans I disagree with you . He's right. Rock is not the "music of the times", now. Not sure what planet you are on.

I think it's good that rock isn't as mainstream as it used to be. It makes it more anti establishment!!!
