to start... i went to queens concert that year in my home town so obviously i was watching this episode live (one of the few times ive watched this crappy show). simon is wrong. im a giant queen fan. innuendo is NOT a bad song. its a fantastic song to perform. also, it was refreshing to hear someone perform a non-traditional queen song because, in my opinion, most of the songs, particularly crazy little thing called love. i cant believe the guy who sang that song eventually won!!

@njnjdsj Yeah, I think the judges slipped on this one. But, Chris was right, it is an excellent song, but it is also obscure in it's own right. I think because it is not a "radio classic" is why the judges didn't recognize it's relevance right away. Especially Paula, who is high on something most of the time anyway.

Innuendo is one of the masterpieces that Queen give us. You can't come and sing it, just because you want! Only Freddie can sing it and only him will ever can. Those guys just need to stop ruining Queen songs!

Doesn't work for me at all. He doesn't have the range for this song which is certainly not my favorite from Queen. He could have chosen "I want it all" which in my opinion would have suited his tone of voice better, or "Who wants to live for ever" which is my favorite Queen song. Still love Chris.

This is insanely difficult. He was able to do it very well, even the few hard parts he attempted. Respect for this.

Simon.. This song takes understanding to admire. It's not for the general public, I agree, but not a good song? What's great about Queen is that many of their songs take many listens until you see the brilliance which sadly the Kesha and Justin Bieber fans (the majority of the population) will never comprehend.

About the performance? Horrible. The real reason Simon says it's not a good song is Daughtry ruined it and make it awful. This is one of the greatest songs of ALL TIME.

Hindsight is 20/20. "I Want It All" likely would have been a better choice for him on this night. More of an opportunity to show off his money notes in a condensed version of the song, while also maintaining a bit of a groove. Regardless, I don't get the whole Adam Lambert thing; Daughtry always has impressed me most in this genre of music. Not because of the best technique or the widest range, but because of the genuine heart and soul he puts into it.
