@geilernick There are many Persian words that have gone to other languages. "Saray" is a Persian word, includes "Sar" + "ay". The meaning is house. "Sar" means "head" and "ay" means "come". That's because Iranian has been always very kind hosts for strangers. Iranians invite people "to come with their head" (a kind of "homey feeling" for their guests). Hence, "Saray" is the suffix in Persian meaning house. Caravan (Persian) means the "convoy". So, Caravansary = Inn, and its a Persian word.
