  • Ghosts are always funny acting.

  • lol i notice from watching these mantis vids that they have an affinity for cameras and anytime one comes near they start boxing at it and want to climb on it.

  • they seem to be attracted to lenses , tried to take a picture of one earlier and he humped my lens :(

  • I think it's because they can see a clear reflection of themselves in the camera lens and they rush over to check it out... I've noticed it as well...

  • ha ha! like rocky with mad headgear!

  • It looks like an Egyptian Queen. XD LOL!!

  • Looks like he's yelling at you "yooooo maaaaan I'm hungry.. what the fuck!" hahaha or it would've been nice to put some bruce lee effects ^^

  • Ghosts are one of the longer lived mantises. The females especially can live longer than the 1 year average.

Also, you don't need to tame them. They are already human-friendly.

  • are these tameable? and how long do they live? and what would the price range be on one?

  • do you mean this specific kind??

because you can buy the common kind for 15 dollars online but they only sell in spring because they come in eggcases..

i got three eggcases for 15 dollars.

check out my vid if you wanna see them!

  • 3 ooths for 15 bucks? where?? you mean ghost ooths right?

  • ghost?

hmm... no i got chinese mantises!

on the internet they have them if you google it i think!

  • oh lol nevermind then. I can find those outside here.

  • ist dies ein Männchen? schon oder?

Is this a male, isn't it?

  • So winzig und bizarr...vielleicht sollte ich endlich mal durchsetzen, was ich schon länger plane und mir ein paar ins Terri setzen, aber schwarze^^

  • oh!!!...sorry guys...got it

  • I'm sorry what are yall talking about L4? Level 4?

  • wtf is l3 and l4 guys..

  • L = larval stadium

    ok?

  • or larval stage..larval phase..however :D

  • is that L3?

  • How long will it take for this species to get to L4?

  • about 10 to 12 days

  • You mean from L3 to L4?

I'm currently keeping this species - most are sub-adult, one moulted into aduld two days ago - sweet.

  • I just got a couple of ghost nymphs a week and a half ago or so... they both moulted within a day of each other, and I'm totally unsure as to what instar they're in. They look exactly like this one, but maybe a smidge smaller... Are they L3?

  • The male you see in the vid is not L3, it may be around pre-subadult, I'm unsure about the number of moultings for this species - I did not bother countig since they were synchronized pretty well.
