@kgirl998 You mean you have a commercial music CD in the drive, or you have a blank CD in the drive? You need to put a commercial CD in the drive (and not one with MP3 files on it.)

- Click on the Privacy Tab

- Check the first two boxes, Display media information from the Internet and Update Music Files by retrieving media info from the Internet.

@MCrue2 Media Player 9 should have the MP3 option in the drop-down provided you turn on classic menus and click on the RIP tab. It would be wise, though to update Windows in general and update Media player at least to version 11.
