Who had a colour TV in 1953? It was at the cinema in colour. I remember it as being the biggest event of all time . Street Parties ,the lot and I got a pen and pencil set with a crown on the top . I'm an antimonarchist now but these were the days of innocence, or was it just me?
In a far away and innocent time-I thought a great remake of this film would have been to have had 2 kids running off to London for Charles and Dianas wedding-with the film ending with the famous kiss-sigh.
I have not seen this film on TV for years. It was only until I bought a colour TV that I realised it the film was made in colour. The most memorable thing about it was the constant theme in the background by Eddie Calvert.
This is dedicated to Julie Ashby, Upper Norwood,

I remember this well, but in black and white. Maybe we hadn't bought a color TV yet in my family.

I remember seeing this film in the late 1960'S. I was so caught up in the kids' journey and have never forgotten this.
