You know, the 2-D Caesar 3 engine - used in Pharaoh, Zeus, and Emperor - is still amazing to look at after all these years. Bright colors, cleverly animated sprites, and useful visual cues like little flags on "occupied" buildings. These games also had deceptively simple game play. Easy to get into, but extremely difficult to master.

When I was younger I used to play these games, Caesar, Pharaoh, Emperor... and just loved 'em. I don't enough time now to play, these games demand quite lot of time, but it's nice, really complex style sometimes. What I never liked was the people being too big compared to the buildings, felt way unreal, but they sorted it out on Emperor, well they tried but was enough.

By the way though, your screen shots make me think you can't be that good of a player of the game though... For example, because the palace raises desirability so much, it's good to surround it with houses. Also, it makes little sense to have four granaries in a row. You want them nearest to the bazaars they are servicing so your people get fed.

Honestly, I love the simple and elegant graphics, and the dynamics of the game. I hope one day they create a new version with more buildings and options. @mjkingofpop1993 there is a pharaoh which govern over all the city. there are invasions by other country and if you dont please the pharaoh he will send his troops to destroy your city. gods also affects your city, they destroy things. hehe.. you don't really bury your dead on those monuments like pyramids. some are for the eyes only others lets you put goods and things to finish a level. its addictive and fun. im playing it right now!
