Im not a Leno fan, but I dont think he did it on purpose, it looked like he was not ready for the hug. Notice when they both sat down that Leno did pat him on his back and smile so I think that was a way of reasuring his acceptance of Dave.

Yes, Jay didn't realize that Dave give those kinds of hugs 'Brothers' (black guys) give. It must not have dawned on Jay that Dave has adopted that part of the culture. Maybe if a rapper, hip hop artist or even a black actor had come on then Jay would expect to give that kind of welcome. Funny, white guys don't know how to tell what kind of greeting to give other white guys so it can come off clumsey. No problem cause they all have good intentions.

It could of been acouple of reasons why Leno backed off. 1 Jay doesn't know him like that so he didn't care. 2. Jay wanted to hurry around the desk, not to waste time with Dave. 3. Dave could of smelled funny and the odor took Jay by surprise! haha

@chbobcats20 Definitely "arguably" ... Trey is good and has his own style but I wouldn't call him one of the greatest. I think this has to do with the fact I cannot stand Phish! I don't know how anyone can enjoy that without being drunk or high.

@justse2006 Yeah, I'm not a huge huge Phish fan either, but I really like Trey's style for some reason. I think he's just super underrated. But I personally don't think you can pinpoint absolutely ONE greatest guitar player ever, but in the pantheon of great guitarists, I'd personally put Trey in there. Some of his best stuff isn't with Phish, but with TAB(Trey Anastasio Band).
