Outbound Flight is the best Star Wars book ever written. The build up was smooth, the characters were freshly presented, and you finally truly see the tactical genius of Thrawn. Plus there's a revelation that Palpatine was aware of the Yuuzhan Vong 50 years prior to their invasion of the galaxy and you see the intricacies of his intelligence operation beautifully laid out.
But all that disagreement aside, I still respect that you didn't like it. To each his own I suppose.
i agree that i first thought that jacen was jaken but his nickname throughout a lot of books was jasa. so that can kind of back the jason pronunciation.
INFERNO was a terrific novel: Alema meeting the Sith Dark Masters on Korriban.
The Siege of Kashyyyk. **** 1/2 / 5 - (Bothans and Wookies as allies)
The Dual of Leia and Tahiri + Luke and Jacen combat was awsome. The best part was probably when the GAG assaults the Jedi praexum on Ossus killing many Jedi including a Gungan padawan.
Jacen as Darth Caedus commits war crimes in Legacy of the Force series that even Anakin Skywalker as Darth Vader would have been appalled at. At least Vader felt some degree of remorse internally when he massacred people. However, Caedus not only is remorseless but is a complete opposite to Jacen's original character. Jacen is the Greek
word for healer and Caedus is a Latin variation for murderer, killer, or battle so even the two names are directly anti-thesis along with personality.
If you think Vader just did that stuff shown in the movies... Then your talkin' to a wall... Vader was on massacres that killed thousands on thousands of lives...
Of course Vader didn't just massacre people in the films, abctbc. I've read at least several series of Star Wars novels and I couldn't find any of them without Vader committing some form of genocidal murder. I recommend reading Dark Lord: Rise of
I'm hoping they do what they did to Sylar: Caedus stays evil, gets stripped of his connection to the Force and thought killed, and then during the next book series, caedus secretly wanders the galacy, trying to find a way to regain his powers so he can get revenge on his family. And then that series ends with the villain (whoever it is) being beaten, but also with Caedus regaining his powers.
In Revelation, pellaeon defects back to the Empire. the moffs support solo, but pellaeon and Daala (yes she returned)oppose him. so caedus has pell. assasinated! he has killed boba fett's daughter, his aunt, and now pellaeon. JACEN SOLO DESERVES TO DIE!!!!!!!!!
I wonder if there is more at work then we are lead to believe, the sith that are still on Korriban, why did they put them into the story arc for only a short period.....what are they up to in all of this i wonder.
I was led to believe that the Sith in the Legacy Comics (which I dont read) are the ones currently on Korriban...Darth Krayt, Darth Wyyrlok, etc. Interestingly, the new Empire is ruled by a force-sensitive man named Roan Fel...possible progeny of Jaina and Jag?
Agreed but Jacen's not going to die before alot of damage has been done. And personaly although Jaina will duel her brother she's not going to kill him. Can't wait to see how that plays out.
Jacen is portrayed as losing all the compassion and sanity he retained throughout the New Jedi Order series. Even after being tortured by the Yuuzhan Vong, Jacen still cared about his sister and his parents. However, after Dark Nest, it's as though Jacen as everyone knew him died out. I personally hope the authors expand on where Jacen's mentality and morality went horribly wrong because I view the plot as a bit disorderly.
if you could plzzz give some more on this emerald lightning and in between the time that luke lost his hand how did he get the lightsaber in ep 6. plz give detail thx
After Empire Strike Back luke went back to Ben's old place on Tatoonine and found a diary that gave luke info on how to build a lightsaber. Ben knew Luke would need all this info plus more someday as the Jedi were all but extinct.
eternalrogue i have reseached and found that in 10 ABY luke finds out the emperor has not died.Luke joins forces with him and recives a red saber.i also find that when under the emperor he learns how to shoot the lightning.
Emerald Lightning - This is a variation of Force Lightning used by Luke Skywalker in The Unifying Force against a Yuuzahn Vong Slayer. It is identical to regular Force Lightning except for the fact that it is emerald green in appearance and has the power to kill instantly.
Thats the Dark Empire books/comics... its were the Empire factions are fighting eachother, then the Emperor clone pop-up and rejoin all of the Imperial factions...
It's kind of disappointing how Outbound Flight turned out. They took one of the biggest mysteries of the Star Wars galaxy and screwed it up; kind of what Episode II did to the Clone Wars.
I can't wait for the next Legacy books to come out. I really want Jacen to die, but I predict that he'll probably suffer the same fate as Ulic Qel-Droma; except that instead of repenting, he'll travel the galaxy trying to regain his power, kind of like Sylar in "Heroes" season 2.
I definitely think that Jaina will fight Jacen in Invincible. She's the Sword of the Jedi for goodness sake. She might die, along with Jacen, to join Anakin. I believe Jacen must die. I don't think Luke, Leia, Han and Ben will.
i think han will die cause they will want to end the seris with a bang. cause they already killed off a female role. and they also killed off a skywalker. so it wontbe luke, and it wont be leia. but thatsjust what i think
I think the series is going to end with Jacen exiling himself to Korriban after a duel with Jaina, Luke and Ben. The jedi order will be restored after Ben finds K'kruhk who has been hiding for many decades and has been wanting to join the new jedi. So maybe in the next book series K'kruhk will become Ben's mentor and befriend Luke and the other jedi masters. Just a theroy
ben wont have a mentor cause in fury luke says ben is ready to create his blade. meaning he is on his way to become a jedi knight. so k'kruhk will not be bens mentor.
K'kruhk was a whipid jedi master back in the clone wars who was very hard to kill, he was a survivor of the great jedi purge. K'kruhk appears the legacy comic series as a master of the New Jedi Order and Cade Skywalker's mentor.
Yeah I love stories with Han and Leia in them as well. I find there is nothing specific on them in books as they are involved in lots of different storylines. Maybe I could do a review on just them and the history.
Awesome reviews once more!! Thanks for the warning about Outbound Flight though, been thinking of buying it though after your review, I've done a complete 180! I too think that Revelation will be about the two secrets concerning Jacen : killed Mara and his new Sith name.
Superb review mate, working at the end of Inferno now;) Now I know that I shouldnt waste money on Outbound Flight (Which is in Harcover; Which cost like triple or something)... But I do wonder how that confrontation between Obi Wan and that Joruus O¨babaloba or whatever he's named was?

FURY was the first book I liked from Aaron Allston. *** 1/2 / 5
Cameo: Jaden Korr (Jedi Academy)
ONLY WEAK POINT: Alema Rar is killed by Jagged Fel. That Dark Jedi should have eliminated by like Leia or Warro (Chewie's son)
LordZeratul86 3 years ago
worst thing. Kyle Katarn goes down like a bitch, when he is the second best saber duelist in the order

Though it gonna be interesting to see whats happening to Jacen...
Personally I hope they redeem him, he go into exile on a planet like Dogabah, and is coming back in later novels to help his good old family...
