Having said that, I don't think violent games directly create violence in society, because the violence portrayed is fantastical. If rape becomes glamorized in media, however, it will drastically affect the attitudes of kids and teenagers, and it's not unrealistic to think this would lead to an increase in sexual violence.

So it's arguable that a game based around Vikings raping and pillaging would be less controversial than the same premise in a modern setting. Personally, if game content is becoming increasingly sexualized, this portrayal isn't something I'd like to see become commonplace.
