  • Dusty lives on in our Memories, with her songs......

  • love the photos of all the aspects of her career. You did a great job! Saw her in the 80's at some gay club in LA. She was simply amazing, as she would be! Being a cancer survivor myself, she fought the good fight. I heard about her death in a gay bar in Key West Florida, and my friend and I did shots and beers for a couple of hours and then went back to our B&B to watch the cable news and find out more about her death.

  • a good partof my life without thoughts of talent or person. Guess I am guilty of stat eyes instead of the person withthe talent. So sad to loose great talent. I too will miss her. I forgot Gene Austin too. My age is here in front of you. She was GREAT

  • you picked the right song !

    \

  • Its a shame that more people have not seen or heard this wonderful mix of Dusty. Thank you so much from a child of the 60's and 70's.....It brought back all my youth and I cried.

Yes she died very young from cancer....and she was originally in a group called the Springfields..she was also gay.... An amazing person and an amazing talent. RIP Dusty your voice is with us forever.

  • The Best ever Female British singer by a Mile, God Bless You, Dusty Springfield R.I.P.

  • Beautiful x

  • Logging in from wellington, New Zealand. Dusty was a closet lesbian and it tormented her until her dying day. It's weird when you look at one of her (The Springfields) very first hits which was "Island of Dreams". The very first lines that she sung were "I wander the streets and the gay crowded places, trying to forget ......"

Any way Dusty, you are one of the greats. Rest in peace my friend.

  • Haunting. Beautiful.

  • I had the privilege of meeting Dusty back in 1982. She was a guest appearance of a local radio station in Southern California. I knew the radio jock, Charlie Fox, and he introduced me to her. I was blown away as I only popped up for the radio broadcast. When I realized that it was thee Dusty Springfield, I was in heaven. Just thought I'd share this with Ya'll!

  • It will be played at my funeral. and yes, freeqwerqwer, she passed away in 1999 of breast cancer. Huge loss to many of us.

  • cool video mate

  • WOW I have always admired and love this Lady even when I was a little boy in New York. I loved her strongness in a time when they treated women in the industry like crap. To find out that she told them no thank you when it was known that she was gay and they wanted her to cool down for the record company is the power of her person . Rest In Peace great Lady! You will live on and I am proud to have known your music! Joseph N Adkins

  • Wow Joseph...thank you for reminding the world how simply awesome she was...she left a mark on us guys. Thanks bro.

  • Dusty was bisexual and had many male lovers. She plainly and strongly stated that on numerous occasions. If she had been gay she would have stated it just as strongly. She definitely knew who and what she was.

  • I totally agree with your comments and admire your great taste in music.

My surname is Adkins too !! It must be an ADKINS thing !

  • Wow! How the hell do you follow that?

    R.I.P Dusty, Love & respect Ray♥ X X X

  • Just "Class" great "Class" what a lady! what a voice! what a song!!

  • Voice of an angel, beautiful and the epitome of our time in the 60's. When our contemporaries die a little of us goes with them.

  • I really miss Dusty. I wrote to Philips one time to contact her. Unfortunately, I never heard anything back.

  • "so catch me if you can, I'm goin back"

    Brings tears every doggone time!

  • Loved It ! Frame 6 brought tears to my eyes, the patterned stockings my sister and I bought every weekend with our allowance........STOCKINGS, no panty hose then, garter belts and all...........Loved your memorial. How do I get a print of that frame ????

  • This country? This planet!!!

  • Dusty was the greatest female singer that this country has even seen.

  • Beautiful song, talented artist; thank you so much for sharing it....

  • thanks, it was great...

  • Just thought I'd listen to a couple of Dusty tracks and was looking for 'Going Back'. Having found it here I agree it serves as a beautiful memorial.

I can't believe it's 10 years since Dusty left us, but may be that's because she'll always be here in our hearts.

  • beautiful.

  • This spring it will be ten years ago that her soul left

this world. I'm sure when asked if she learned much goodness

  • First of all, thank you for posting this precious clip. It's wonderful. I really, truly wish Dusty was still here, though. There aren't any words that I can pull out of my heart to describe this incredibly great woman and singer. Why did she have to go so soon? I wish I could have met this magnificent person; it would have been the best thing that would happen to me in my life. I better get going before my eyes are too wet to see out of. I love you Dusty, and I will see you, sooner or later.

  • This woman was brilliant. RIP Dusty!

  • What a song by the Best........must have played this every day for weeks now...

  • Sublime song by a truly sublime lady. Inimitable and irreplaceable.

  • Good job starbuck and thanks for making the effort. I see a resemblence to Princess Di every now & then, vice-versa, I guess, since

    Dusty came first.

  • This is a very nice retrospective of one of the finest female singers the UK has ever produced. She was there when I left Primary School, for High School, she saw me through my teenage years, I lost touch with her in the eighties, but it was good to see her again, and introduce her to my children.

    A wonderful artiste!

  • well i don't what it is but i am really into Dusty music at the moment. capital gold are always playing her stuff....this memorial you've done is fantastic....what a track...

  • Peerless.

  • Dusty left us so much in her music, her voice reaches in and touches my soul and makes me cry. Always remembered, x

  • Lovely. Thanks.

  • One of the most underrated singers of the last century. She had the caliber like someone as Streisand, but did not receive the recognition she deserved.

The Pet Shop Boys of course gave a boost to her career in al later stage and showed a new generation what a great singer she was.

  • starbucksbear Great job----on your first attempt to put a video together you aced it.This is a great tribute to Dusty---we all miss her.

  • WOW! This was so emotional; I cried.

What a beautiful memorial and song; it struck at the core of my heart. Many loved Dusty and her incredible voice. I grew up in Central California in the 60s and all her big hits were played on the radio. I liked how she treated everyone so firendly and embraced all, especially Blacks and other ethnic groups (yet in the middle of the era of Race tensions); she didn't have a prejudice bone in her body... everyone was a brother and sister. Thank you!

  • Sometimes people are not recognised for their qualities until they are gone- it makes you want to wish you could turn the clock back. RIP Dusty we miss you.

  • Thank you for your wonderful words! I think you hit the point just right and that makes the difference for alot of people! Thank you! Her Soul came naturally, she did not copy others ,black or white. This is what I loved about this woman who did admire alot of Black singers. Aretha gave her high praise as a singer who had alot of Soul!

  • I didn't know she passed!

  • a lovely tribute to a great singer. she remains unique.

  • A wonderful tribute, she had a God given voice she was NOT your average pop singer. There never will be another like her. I do like Duffy though and think she should do a 'Duffy sings Dusty' album

  • TY for listing Dusty ,if I could find a lady with such a voice...I'd be a very happy man!!! (((Indeed)))Mamma cass is another voice that needs to be remembered.

  • You did a very good job!!Thank you so much!! I miss her.

  • terrific tribute to Mary Isabel O'Brian.. Her voice is haunting!

  • I can't tell you how happy I am to see all of these great compliments. I am so glad to hear I did a decent job. I only wish I never had to...

  • Thank you for this beautiful tribute. I am so happy to see that Dusty's many fans have remained faithful to her over the decades. I loved her music then as now and always!

  • This is lovely. You did a brilliant job first time out. I am a married woman who has a serious crush on Dusty. Her voice is haunting, beautiful, evocotive. I am so sad I am only now REALLY hearing her. She has been a part of all of my 49 years, but now I hear her. Thank you.

  • lovely,thank you.

  • A beautiful tribute to a beautiful and classy lady! If there is an afterlife, I hope she can see her tributes. Sadness, hope, nostalgia, tears, laughter...she brought it to us. I don't like RIP...I hope her spirit is just enjoying and chillin' with the other side.

  • That song makes me cry each time I hear it ! I truly miss Dusty ! She was such a fantastic singer !

  • Wonderful!

    Miss you Dusty!

  • Gosh, starbuckbear what an incredible tribute to such a talented artist. I sold philly cheesesteaks to "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me", and danced at The Saint to "In Private" Thanks for the memories. Discerning eye and ear, by the way! Thanks for sharing your talent.

  • For a first time video you hit the nail square on the head. Perfect song to compliment the greatest singer. Well done Star. Rest in peace Dusty. You are missed and always will be remembered. May God bless you and hold you close.

  • Best song of all time more or less.. and only cause of her rendition and delivery. The other versions are nowhere near it. I can't imagine how this would have went down at her funeral cause it's heartbreaking enough as it is on its own!

  • Dusty you are simply the best.Goodbye and I do believe we will meet again.

  • A memorial well done starbucksbear.

Your selection of visual photos do bring back memories. Congrats on your first video.

  • Beautiful rest in peace Dusty you are sadly missed by all your fans

  • According to Steve Allen on LBC 97.3 this song was used at Dusty's Funeral in Henley On Thames in 1999. Such a haunting song especially the very end bit.

    Great tribute. Well done

  • Great video. Well done and thanks!

  • Extremely well done! I sure miss her. Her version of the Look Of Love with that airy sax is soooo good and sexy. What a diva she was. Bless you Dusty!
