4- Brazil has given to our indigenous tribes eternal rights on their native areas that are 1,000 times larger American government gave to their remaining non-exterminated indigenous guys.
5- For centuries Americans have exterminated their own indigenous tribes, so it's a blatant moral issue that it's an American woman that comes to cynically lecture us on it. Go take care of your own country first.
6- For decades Americans have done their best to prevent Brazil from growing, so that they can continue to exploit our resources for cheap bread crumbs.
7- Apart from the river's natural area, additional flooded area will be of insignificant 0,0036% (190 km²) of Amazon Basin, which entire area is of 5.217.423 km² (roughly 67% of USA territorial area, not counting invaded countries).
Don't some of you people have a brain when it comes down to this kind of stuff?! China is a good example of this! They have built many dams near villages, and most of them had been flooded out! Many people end up homeless and are literally forced to make amends in order to survive! Parts of the Amazon Rainforest is already underwater because of existing dams that had already been built in the river. More dams means more flooding! The forest has literally became drowned by these dams!
in my post, from the german dokumentation, there are 4 me these facts about amazonas/brasil:- oil, wood, minerals ,place 4 mono-agriculture ( 4 the meat-lovers in the world)
money for a few who run dams&electricity plants for the bigcities.-( remember the olympics and the soccer-championships take place in brasil, soon) and not to forget, the ZuckerRohr_planting for delivery Ethanol 2 a stupid german solution in mixing up petrol/fuel for the better O2-bilanz(called E10 instead of 3 liter-cars)
the world we live in , is for us all.. we should enjoy not destroy it..1% make homeless people every day , the world over with out a care !!!!!! my eyes look at this every day , and now I think it would take an act of god to stop this............thank you linda........and peace be yours
Same story another century. Think back to the indigenous people of this land and many others. Those on top didn't care then and they don't care now. All they care about is their own self interest. Progress is not sacrificing one way of life for another. When are people going to understand that love is respect for all living things.
@donHooligan That's my point, nothing has changed. Those with their own egotistical desires who can rule over others will. Personally I have a very direct linage to the indigenous people of this land, so the history of pain and suffering at the hands of the conquerors, is very recent and still goes on today.
@earthkeyper the ego is a deviant monster. i can't seem to kill my own. it lays dormant for months, sometimes...but "i want, i need, and what about me" always creep back into my mind. its easy to squash, these days...but i gotta stay vigilant.

@OsamaPP No - honestly we made a big mistake in America early on - we didn't honor our indigenous people and we are much the lacking for it. Dam's ruin the land and the people - look how bad the dam has been in China. It's a mess, millions of people displaced and it's killing the land - it was a huge mistake. The jobs can not replace the lovely life these people have living in truth with each other and the land. We are the lost not they, money does not make you happy as any rich man knows-
The Religionists and Humanists want unlimited population growth. We can't be "green" unless we find a way to stop ourselves. There's been a stoppage of simple logic since Homo Sapinoid entered stage left.
Hello Linda !! wanted 2 post a real doku about this problem, but...its always the same...youtube just cut it OFF....so i found a website about the problematic...have a look... --> xingu.bralemao.com <-- even there on this site, the youtube doku is not working anymore...how spreading, if the ressources getting cut down...greetzzz
@keensweep Yes yes we are all the same fighting against the same 600 families - the .01% that holds all the power, owns all the money and create all the wars and woes. 99% would choose a better world than we let these mega monster corporations create for us.
My guess is they are doing it, because they can. What force is stopping them? It comes down to a philosophy that these insane rich don't listen to...just because you can, doesn't mean you should. There must be a moral question in order for all business to take place, but instead of business ethics classes, they are learning money-making, profiting classes. The throttle is broken. There is no hold on what they can accomplish, because they have no wisdom, no guide on this path...to destruction!
The construction of this dam will temporarily displace people, but it is for the greater good of the people of the Amazon. Providing energy, jobs, and prosperity to the region. A dam isn't going to destroy the river! I'm sorry but unless you live there you don't have a right to stop it and even less of a right to interfere. If you think you do, then how would you like it if these tribal people told you you didn't need your car, or a house, or electricity, or a job! How would you like that?
@STARFIRESOLAR that dam will take away their home, their livelihood, and everything that makes them human. they have (probably) been living there for thousands of years.
did you know that you don't have to kill anyone to commit genocide?
@donHooligan It's like I said in my comment before, unless you live there you don't have a right to stop it, and your not liking it is your problem. It's not terrorism, and they aren't killing people! It's a for the greater good, jobs and a higher quality of life for the region. The USA has been sticking it's nose into others dealings for way too long and looks where that's gotten us. Did you know that not allowing a people to build a hydro-electric dam keeps them in the stone age?
@STARFIRESOLAR none of the contractors or corporateers live there either. my opinion that it is arrogant and deviant is not something i consider a problem. actually, if the indigenous don't submit, terrorism is standard operating proceedure, and yes...people will probably die as a direct result if the damsters aren't stopped.
they live healthy lives without Need of a job. why on Earth would they want to be debt slaves? where do you think this plan originated? (dam rapists) They Don't Want It.
@donHooligan Well, if you feel that strongly about it you should sell everything you have and go over there to really get involved in a meaningful way. Why be a debt slave here when you can go save those poor tribal people and their heritage? I'm sure that they would appreciate it since they are too poor and uneducated to know what's good for them. You can be a hero and we'll all be so proud of you!
@STARFIRESOLAR well, its just not that easy...for several legitimate reasons. i'm one of the free-est debt slaves i know. they're not poor, by any stretch of the imagination. i'm a bit concerned for you, though. you okay? ya seem kinda angry.
not at all interested in being a hero. i'm just here to help.
@donHooligan I asked the question "how would you like it if these tribal people told you you didn't need your car, or a house, or electricity, or a job! How would you like that?" You didn't have a snappy answer to that one did you? If these tribal people are to progress and have a better, longer and heathier life, they need energy, jobs and prosperity! They can't be primitive forever. If you're really concerned about the enviornment, install some solar in your home and/or business.
@STARFIRESOLAR i would agree, and ask if my 'family unit' could join their tribe. then i'd live there, and could actually do sum'm bout it, eh? snappy? good word.
dude, what part of "thousands of years" did you not comprehend? they are much healthier (physically and spiritually) than nearly any "civilized" wanker i know.
they Have prosperity. actually, primitive is quite sustainable, so Yes, they could be primitive forever. would you become homeless & work for $5/day?
@donHooligan You STILL haven't answered my question. How would you like it if you had the tribal people telling you that you couldn't have a car, house, electricity? If primitive living was as great as you say we ALL would have stayed living that way. Oh yeah, they look like they should be on the cover of Healthy Living magazine don't they? They don't have modern medicine, is that a good thing? And HELL NO, I don't want to be homeless and work for $5 a day, that's all you buddy!
i say no to the dam. if the people dont want it there, then they should be respected. seems to me i read that the amazon also produces a curtain amount of oxygen for the earth, and with all the bad air coming from fukushima, and all the pollution around the globe, i think we need all the help we can get from the amazon.
I am Brazilian and live in Brasil. It is VERY RARE to find here people with open eyes to the big picture.
Universities here are breeding master degree zombies who cannot think straight and A LOT OF THEM are HELPING AGENDA 21 thinking they are experts in energy, economy and enviromental issues. They make videos PRO Belo Monte.
Adding to this problem is the participation of the HATED Rede Globo actors/actresses in the 1st video AGAiNST Belo Monte. It makes ppl simpathetic to the dam.
I'm pretty sure You Guys and Gals know the purest water on the planet is in that reettngion.WATER (Humm) The newest Battle for resources.Thats alwright there time is gettn extremely shorT...TTU ON THE FLIP.
There is an effort to harness stored energy (in the form of elevated water) and to use that to power a higher standard of living. There are primitive people who will be displaced. It would seem to me fair, that the displaced be compensated. Elevate their existance from primitive animals to that of kept human beings. "kept" in the sense that they will never be able to achieve and contribute to an advanced society with their limited mental powers. But perhaps they can benefit from it at least.
We have had Nicola Tesla's FREE energy for more than a century which has been withheld from us unlawfully.
They withhold this technology so they can profit but it is more than that. It is clear that the real reason for withholding Tesla's Zero Point Energy is to cause environmental damage and damage to the health of all life on Earth.
This clearly means there are very dark and sinister forces at work looking to destroy life on Earth.
Thanks for letting us know this, Morning Mayan [what is your first name please?].
I am watching "Gasland part 1 of 2" just now and it is truly shocking. The insanity levels of these fraking crazies would make even Hitler look like a normal man!!!!
All they will do is pay these people high amounts of money to slave for them. Just like the Oil Sands in Canada. Then when shop is set up the wages and benefits will slowly fall and they left as minium wage slaves or broke and alcoholics like the majority of indegenoius people of the world. I hate these corporate scumbags. Claiming ownership of anything they can cut down or pump from the earth. While people that live there get nothing except a slave job.
We are the reason for cooperate greed. We need only to look at ourselves. Americans waste more than the rest of the World consumes. Blame yourselves, instead of pointing your finger at others. Choice to live a simpler life close to God and Nature. Then you will find the True Answer you are looking for...... You Are The Answer!
Check the whole news and photo in by looking for this phrase in search websites: "dilma-e-surpreendida-com-protesto-de-estudante". Ask for google translator to help you out if you're not fluent in portuguese language.
Last week in Brazil's 25th Young Scientist Award this girl was prizewinner in elementary school category by her 'ecologic seedling package' job, and by praxis had to shake presidents hand. She asked the president, talking closely to her ear, to stop with Belo Monte Dam, and president Dilma said "ok". This girl was also protesting by the indian paintings on her face and the "Xingu Lives" phrase on her right arm.
@rad4life1 it isn't humanity. it is civilized culture. this is a prime example of how The Empire has assimilated most of the indigenous world into its "civilized" ranks. this is how it has worked since the dawn of civilization.
1)displace the people
2)destroy their way of life (be it agriculture or foraging/hunting)
this makes the people dependent upon money to survive.
@donHooligan That is what humanity has taught itself through it's civilization, a group of people decide for the rest what we need, rules, consiquenses, the use of currency. This is an outmoded form of governance. What needs to happen is to teach self-governance, through philosophy and science. Who has the right to decide for an idividual or group who have already decided for themselves?
I would love to post to facebook.. but last week in response to a video regarding the NDAA Bill, NO ONE responded to it.. yet if I posted that I FARTED someone would be sure to check the LIKE button... I've about had it with FB.. but I have other places to share this atrocity.
All We have herd our hole life is look how great it is they can be left alone. How wonderful it is that they still live off the land by there own laws. Now Some moreon is bilding a dam that will destroy there land there protected land WTF wasnt there area of the world protected.
I saw this a while back. The last truely FREE people of the world will be forced to leave the only life they and their ancestors have ever known. Forced into a alien world of money, greed and corruption. This is a true trajedy for them and for the Amazon,
This will be just the first dam also they may need to add 4 more to keep water flowing because of the dry season there, it will restrict the true capacity of the dam to just 10 % during the 3 to 4 months of dry times this could turn into a real bad life for the people at least 20,000 will be put out of there home area, I read its because the Indians of they area don't have name's that they don't care about them, that's there government for ya sound familiar gee where have I felt that before.
Totally torn about this topic. sympathize with the indigenous but grew up in actual civilization so hard not to be a bit pompous about it. Not sure though if we are advancing as a species. Dams are one of the things though that has led to more people being sustained. Again, it's a really tough subject. Good video.
@vinmorin When has Corporate ever lost? Not gonna happen. They employ the best and the brightest. The tribal peoples deserve preservation and respect, but the sad reality is that they are up against an advanced civilization. Again, torn between two worlds on this sad subject.
Thank you for posting this info . I posted it on my facebook even tho all the people on it seem to only care about fluffy kittens and things that realy dont matter to us as humans . Thank you and have a great day : )
@dawala1000 Thank you. I know how you feel. I have thousands of "friends" on facebook and when I post anything of significance I barely get a comment - sad but every drop in the bucket counts toward critical mass...:)
@mispistoleros Thank you for posting this. I read this as a child and I knew it to be true then. How I wish we would have all made nature and each other our primary focus of love instead of paper money....
Facts and data:
1- Clean-energy replacing than carbon-energy, comes from never-ending hydro-electric power dams to 5,000,000 people in the region.
2- The 5,000 indigenous Brazilians will be removed to a better place and offered access to health treatment that they yet don't have.
3- The whole Amazon region harbors 23 million inhabitants, I see no trouble in removing a few thousand guys for the benefit of millions.

It's SAD!

The insanity levels of these fraking crazies would make even Hitler look like a normal man!!!!
pduffy4 2 months ago
All they will do is pay these people high amounts of money to slave for them. Just like the Oil Sands in Canada. Then when shop is set up the wages and benefits will slowly fall and they left as minium wage slaves or broke and alcoholics like the majority of indegenoius people of the world. I hate these corporate scumbags. Claiming ownership of anything they can cut down or pump from the earth. While people that live there get nothing except a slave job.

love of money is the root of all evil.. where did I hear that before?....
walteregeaux 2 months ago

This wrong! This is wrong! This is WRONG! This is VERY masochistic of humanity!
rad4life1 2 months ago
@rad4life1 it isn't humanity. it is civilized culture. this is a prime example of how The Empire has assimilated most of the indigenous world into its "civilized" ranks. this is how it has worked since the dawn of civilization.
1)displace the people
2)destroy their way of life (be it agriculture or foraging/hunting)
this makes the people dependent upon money to survive.
game over.
donHooligan 2 months ago
@donHooligan That is what humanity has taught itself through it's civilization, a group of people decide for the rest what we need, rules, consiquenses, the use of currency. This is an outmoded form of governance. What needs to happen is to teach self-governance, through philosophy and science. Who has the right to decide for an idividual or group who have already decided for themselves?

All We have herd our hole life is look how great it is they can be left alone. How wonderful it is that they still live off the land by there own laws. Now Some moreon is bilding a dam that will destroy there land there protected land WTF wasnt there area of the world protected.

I saw this a while back. The last truely FREE people of the world will be forced to leave the only life they and their ancestors have ever known. Forced into a alien world of money, greed and corruption. This is a true trajedy for them and for the Amazon,

davidreams 2 months ago
This will be just the first dam also they may need to add 4 more to keep water flowing because of the dry season there, it will restrict the true capacity of the dam to just 10 % during the 3 to 4 months of dry times this could turn into a real bad life for the people at least 20,000 will be put out of there home area, I read its because the Indians of they area don't have name's that they don't care about them, that's there government for ya sound familiar gee where have I felt that before.
pretense101 2 months ago
Totally torn about this topic. sympathize with the indigenous but grew up in actual civilization so hard not to be a bit pompous about it. Not sure though if we are advancing as a species. Dams are one of the things though that has led to more people being sustained. Again, it's a really tough subject. Good video.
biozamadotcom 2 months ago
@biozamadotcom if half the people you know could survive without a grocery store (and/or restaraunts) then we might be advancing as a species.

vinmorin 2 months ago
@vinmorin When has Corporate ever lost? Not gonna happen. They employ the best and the brightest. The tribal peoples deserve preservation and respect, but the sad reality is that they are up against an advanced civilization. Again, torn between two worlds on this sad subject.
