I think the guy is not telling everybody the full story. Some of what he says is truth and the rest is not even biblical. There is no Gift of the Holy Spirit that stays on 24/7, that is Biblically impossible. Nobody hears God's voice, prophesies, or heals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are initiated by the Holy Spirit as He wills. They are not initiated by us. That's why prophesy fails sometimes because these prophets sometimes try to initiate the gift as they will.
@daviddub I have always understood the verse in the bible, "The spirit of the prophets are subject to the prophets" to mean that the prophets are able to control their inclination to speak ; they are not under a necessity of speaking, even though they are inspired to speak. In other words, the prophets have control over their own mind and are not compelled to speak. This is what they explain to prophets who jump up in church and disrupt the sermon in the service with their prophecy.

This sort of thing could happen in a prophets ministry when he or she attempts to prophesy when the Holy Spirit is not manifesting the gift of prophesy or not giving a revelation at a particular time. Such occultic spirits hunt prophets and ministers who feel obligated to perform instead of just focusing on the Word of God and following the direction of the Holy Spirit in ministry.

@christianpreachr : A person who is a prophet can speak a "thus sayeth the Lord" in this manner. The spirit doesn't have to be "high" for a prophet to release a word; we are so accustomed to a lot of charismatic manisfestations BUT the prophetic word is no less "powerful" because of the manner in which he ministered to Lexi. It really helps if you study the gift of prophet and understand the function & ministry of the prophet.
@anorganizer No one can act on prophecy without being in the spirit which he clearly was not. I understand prophecy quite well and can assure you that all of the completely generalized speaking he was giving was not such. Don't make assumptions. God has never worked on demand, and understand that the gift of knowledge is often confused with prophecy. I've yet to see this man prophecy.

I think the guy is not telling everybody the full story. Some of what he says is truth and the rest is not even biblical. There is no Gift of the Holy Spirit that stays on 24/7, that is Biblically impossible. Nobody hears God's voice, prophesies, or heals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are initiated by the Holy Spirit as He wills. They are not initiated by us. That's why prophesy fails sometimes because these prophets sometimes try to initiate the gift as they will.

2. That a person can prophesy at any time does not mean that the gift is always functioning, but it may well be available at any time.

@daviddub I have always understood the verse in the bible, "The spirit of the prophets are subject to the prophets" to mean that the prophets are able to control their inclination to speak ; they are not under a necessity of speaking, even though they are inspired to speak. In other words, the prophets have control over their own mind and are not compelled to speak. This is what they explain to prophets who jump up in church and disrupt the sermon in the service with their prophecy.

@godapproved You're right. Sometimes familiar spirits accomodate prophets and tell them things about people. This sort of thing could happen in a prophets ministry when he or she attempts to prophesy when the Holy Spirit is not manifesting the gift of prophesy or not giving a revelation at a particular time. Such occultic spirits hunt prophets and ministers who feel obligated to perform instead of just focusing on the Word of God and following the direction of the Holy Spirit in ministry.

That's fake speaking in tongues he was doing, and his "prophecy" was a generalized message that will hit everyone and not just specifically Lexi. "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)...You need the spirit of discernment if you can't see this. If you had any kind of Holy Ghost in you, this is a no brainer.

He said some really good things. I like what he said about lazy christians, who dont want to seek or TRUST God for themselves. People need to get their own relationship with Lord, and learn how to hear His voice for yourself! @christianpreachr : A person who is a prophet can speak a "thus sayeth the Lord" in this manner. The spirit doesn't have to be "high" for a prophet to release a word; we are so accustomed to a lot of charismatic manisfestations BUT the prophetic word is no less "powerful" because of the manner in which he ministered to Lexi. It really helps if you study the gift of prophet and understand the function & ministry of the prophet.

I understand prophecy quite well and can assure you that all of the completely generalized speaking he was giving was not such. Don't make assumptions. God has never worked on demand, and understand that the gift of knowledge is often confused with prophecy. I've yet to see this man prophecy.
