Good job to he/she who posted this. I don't think I've ever seen an old, raw video of stipe like that. He was trying to sound so cool! I'm impressed by this. Are you sure this is in 1984? Anyway, I agree. At first I thought this was a hoax, but a young mike mills is hard to copy. Great post.

When I first heard this I mised the banjo from the original at the end, but I now see the great teamwork between Pete and Mike and the abruptish kind of end brings a whole new dimension to the track, I like it now..alot

Wendell Gee is one of my absolute favorite R.E.M. songs. It's almost magical. It's beautiful and sad. And yet also the lyrics (in the second verse are, in a way, dark)

Anyway, it's brilliant. And underrated.
