Heart sounded so much better before Roger Fischer left the band. He was pretty well the reason for the melodys and guitar work you hear in their songs, they lost an important element in their sound, you can hear the difference in the songs after he left.

@glimmer2158 That's pretty cliche of you. Heart did the synth thing better than anyone. If you wanna complain that some bands "sold out" or whatever other tired, overused terms you heard watching VH1 that you wanna use, that's fine, because some bands just relied on the "synth thing" and made bad music. But don't say it about bands that still made unbelievable music when they rolled with the synth tide in the 80s. "Synth pop" is like anything else, a great thing if you do it right, and they did.

@glimmer2158 You're absolutely right. Heart's guitar oriented rock from the 70's is far superior to their 80's stuff. "Synth pop" is why the 80's is more or less a barren wasteland for music. It took Nirvana and the grunge movement to breathe new life into rock in the early 90's.

This is my fave Heart song of all time. Sadly, they did not play it at their recent concert, but oh well. And I don't think you have to qualify this as a "woman" rock and roll band. They are a rock band, period. When this album was recorded, they had 2 women and 4 men in the group - hardly a woman band, but I understand the statement. :)
