I didnt condone the LA riots but Id like to clear a few things. After the death of Latasha Harding & the beating of King caught on tape, no one rioted. Community leaders held conferences & awaited trials & only after all avenues were exhausted did the riots spark-but please understand that it wasnt 2 or 3 events that sparked the riots, it was 40+ years of the justice system failing them. They destroyed business that treated them like shit for years & the only intention was to get your attention.

I think the interesting question is why these incidents moved from being "French style" riots to "American style" looting - it was interesting to watch how a trigger event veered from a small political / social issue incident to a rash of looting incidents.
The other thing is that though I am not in favour of looting - the numbers of people involved are still quite small - it is not as if the whole of the UK is in flames - it is some sections of English cities.

I think the interesting question is why these incidents moved from being "French style" riots to "American style" looting - it was interesting to watch how a trigger event veered from a small political / social issue incident to a rash of looting incidents.
The other thing is that though I am not in favour of looting - the numbers of people involved are still quite small - it is not as if the whole of the UK is in flames - it is some sections of English cities.
