i remember my talent show me drumming, 5th grade I think i was 10 or 11, there were SOOO many people bhind the curtain watching me then the bass drum was sliding out from under me and that was the OH SHIT moment. I had to go around the school and up to the balcony in the back where all my friends were sitting. Very good job kid! Just a pro-drummer tip from me. Relax the forearm, and hold the sticks a TINY bit lower, and use the wrists more! Trust me, it will make your tom transitions so much smoother! It is funny how you kind of "look down" on the floor when you play. I have done the SAME THING my whole part-time drumming career, even now at 28...

Being the fastest with double bass hasn't got too much to do with being the best drummer. Some people learn it faster then others.. We have the most amazing drummer in my band, but he progresses really slow with double bass while his other drumskills are of the hook. And I, as keyboardist, play doublebass faster as him.

for only 9 years old he has the basics down better then most kids he can keep a steady bass peddle, and most of all use the bass peddle and stay in tempo with the rest of his set! lol i remeber when i started learning at around his age maybe a year or 2 younger doesnt matter though but the hardest part for me was to use the bass peddle with the rest of my set lol
