Its a mental disorder, the important word being MENTAL. Just because her weight has changed(althought i think only slightly) doesnt mean her dilusions and fears are gone

anorexia is not just about weight loss there are a few factors that contribute and have to be present for a diagnosis. extreme weight loss is one yes but once thats weights gone how can you lose more unless you die? living with the fear of gaining weight and having a body image distortion of yourself are also key factors of anorexia. Most extremely thin anorexics have no real image of what they really look like, some google pictures of girls their height and weight to see the real them.
The recovery rate is only 60% and most suffer for at least 6 to 7 years. So even if Mary-kate were to put the weight back on it is more than likely she will struggle mentally. Eating disorders have the biggest death toll than any other mental disorder, and is the least understood disorder. I hope Mary-kate keeps fighting on, she is beautiful and so talented, hopefully anorexia will just be a tiny blip in her everlasting career x

Under the clinical definition of anorexia, a person with anorexia has to be undergoing extreme weight loss over a short period of time. If a person's not doing that, she does not have anorexia. Thoughts about weight loss, without ACTUAL weight loss, is not anorexia.
So, it's thoughts PLUS extreme weight loss. Without extreme weight loss, there is no anorexia. That's what the doctors and scientists have said, that's the definition of anorexia.
Most people DO get over anorexia. Statistically, about 80% of people recover.
Remember, anorexia is a condition where people lose extreme amounts of weight. If a person isn't doing that, they don't have anorexia. So MK doesn't have anorexia anymore.
I look up to her now more than ever. Why? Cause in life what's important is not the problems we get....what's important is how we DEAL with the problems we get. And Mary-Kate dealt with anorexia responsibly, smartly, and maturely, and she did the right thing by getting help.

i've been anorexic for seven years and it never truly goes away even when you are in recovery. the only thing i wonder is why did she go to a treatment center that doesn't even offer eating disorder treatment?

No. She has fallen back into Anorexia. But the girls do it because they feel it's the only thing in their lives they can control. There's never been any evidence she did drugs. None. It's a well-known fact that she went to rehab for an eating disorder. THOUSANDS of girls get eating disorders every year, and in most cases it has nothing to do with drugs.
People repeat that lie because it makes them feel better about their own lives and their own mistakes. And sometimes they repeat lies because they're jealous.
It has to be pretty hard for Mary-Kate... I think it's sad of people throwing rumours in the world about her. Just let the girl live her life the way she wants to.

If not, my god, it's just frightening how skinny she became, it's great to see her looking so much more healthier now, it's just setting a much better example to her fans; or anyone who looks up to celebrities in that case! I hope she manages to keep well, she looks gorgeous when she doesn't resemble a waif!

okay so i know you know by now that you have two pics of ashley olsen in there. And also you can't say when she was ill. Almost all of those pictures were after she went to rehab, you really should have said pics that she looks ill in or something. You really should fix your video.

Actually not all people with anorexia want attention, and she's gotten help for it and is doing much better.
And anorexia is not really a "choice " people make.

i've been anorexic for seven years and it never truly goes away even when you are in recovery. the only thing i wonder is why did she go to a treatment center that doesn't even offer eating disorder treatment?

if she really had anorexia then you never totally recover from it.
ive got ED-NOS and i want so badly to be able to recover but i dont think people appreciate how frustrating and depressing it is to have an eating disorder. everyone thinks that we just dont eat on purpose
im not posting this to preach or anything but i do hope she is better now and that she is happy once again

No. She has fallen back into Anorexia. But the girls do it because they feel it's the only thing in their lives they can control. They blame themselves for the bad things that are happening and take off the food to feel in control and secure about their lives. I think it's a sad illness and I hope she does get better again soon. It isn't really fair on her. She feels that she is out of control or overweight and blames herself for it. so she slipped back into Anorexia. Please Mary-Kate STOP xx

Well, no one but her doctor can decide whether she's anorexic again. Anyway, she seems A LOT healthier today: She's gained weight and she looks quite healthy.

We accept being thin as normal, we're not eating huge servings and ignoring the constantly shove something in the hole to fill the emptiness inside message in our culture, WE'RE NOT CONSUMING ENOUGH!

I think she's just plain skinny . You dont need to be anorexia to be skinny . Its sad that people see her in a unhealty way . She's doing the best she can . She cant be perfect , neither can anyone else

There's never been any evidence she did drugs. None. It's a well-known fact that she went to rehab for an eating disorder. THOUSANDS of girls get eating disorders every year, and in most cases it has nothing to do with drugs.
