@brunozxch2o Depends on a lot of things. How fast this Aikido guy can react to being grabbed around the throat. If its a surprise attack. If the mataleao is already applied then i doubt theres much he could do. For every technique theres a technique for that so it is possible to get away from that kind of choke if you practice.
My comment was a year ago and now i believe Aikido is not enough for self defence. MMA is good but its not everything.

Shouldn't uke pull you back and off balance while doing the choke? Because in that case I don't know how you would be able to lean over as you do before the sankyo grab.
I would appreciate your answer, as I'm having problems with this attack myself
