  • which movie it was at the end???

  • @umed92 - Sunshine (Starring Cillian Murphy & Captain America's Chris Evans). I wanted to see how the LaserVue handled contrast with extreme levels of light and dark in the same scenes. Unfortunately, the dim lighting of the showroom, combined with my attempt to zoom in for detail , and the drastic levels of bright and dark, played havoc with my HD camcorder's auto-focus. My videos do not do the television justice, but thanks for taking the time to view them, and check back for more!

  • @SpenceJT Ok! thanks

  • Dude, compared to a Samsung LED, which one fits better to the colour saturation?

  • @EmmyDelight - I'd say that it is at the very least, "on par with", and can possibly even exceed the color saturation (and color gamut) of an LED set. The LED and Laser technologies are after all, very distant "cousins". Comparing the LaserVue to LED, I can say with great certainty that the LaserVue's black levels will exceed the average edge-lit LED (which does not have localized dimming).

  • @SpenceJT Good to know. I'm moving to a new, bigger house in half a year at most, and wanted to fullfill my fantasy of having a true HD tv with colours that would just piss on LED's. Dude, since you appear to be so kind, would you mind in the near future to film your tv playing Tron:Legacy at full hd? with all the levels you know... just wanted to make an idea of how the LED's from the movie would look on laser tec. Best regards.

  • @EmmyDelight - I'll see what I can do. I've got Tron: Legacy, I just need to find time. It has been nearly a year since my last video, so I'm about due for a "12 months later". I am open to any additional suggestions as to what people would like to see in any upcoming video. Granted, the flawless 3D cannot be reproduced, but nearly anything else goes!

  • @SpenceJT I know and I understand that. Thanks a lot man. That clip of Tron that I am so excited about could make the difference in achieving one of these babies or not. I am already 90 percent sure that i want one.

  • I own this tv and I can tell you my $6000 I spent few years back was worth every dollar .. Still awesome ...

  • Is this a fixed-resolution display like plasmas and LCDs, or can it natively display 480p content without upscaling, like CRTs could?

  • @Inferno288 - good question Inferno, and my only answer at this time, is "I don't know". Perhaps someone else can comment to this? I run my satellite STB through my AVR, which, with it's REON video chipset, scales SD sources up to 1080p. My BD is connected directly to my television, but it too scales 480p DVDs up to 1080p. What counts to me is the quality of the native high definition source material, be it BD, HD satellite, or ATSC "local" broadcasts, and it looks damn good to me.

  • what's the name of last movie after "up in the air?"

  • @mehrshadvr4 - That movie was "Sunshine", a sci-fi movie from director Danny Boyle starring Cillian Murphy and Chris Evans. I wanted to see how the television handled the detail in high contrast scenes. The video does not illustrate just how well the television performed, as I don't think my Sony HD HandyCam was up to the task.

  • Looks amazing

  • fucking awesome.

  • Which 3D glasses do you have? And what its are you using for 3D to work

  • @RomeoValentino - I worked one Mitsubishi 3D starter kit into my original purchase. It came with a pair of 3D glasses. Mits was also running a "free 3D starter kit" promo, so that gave me an extra set. I then purchased three different Samsung 3D starter kits from eBay & Amazon, each with Samsung 3D glasses (same manufacturer as the Mits - and fully compatible), and two "child-sized" Samsung (usb rechargeable via eBay) glasses so my daughter can entertain a friend. Prices continue to drop.

  • how is the 3d on this set?

  • @toddgabweg - Without a doubt, the 3D on my television is the absolute BEST that I have seen outside of an IMAX 3D presentation! I have taken things a step further and run the TV in "Bright Mode" and have calibrated the color, black level, and brightness on a separate HDMI input which I use only for 3D sources. Having it configured in this way compensates for any changes in brightness & contrast due to the active 3D glasses (which have now dropped considerably in price)! See one for yourself!

  • that movie looks great on your tv but what about cable, how do it look

  • I saw one of these in a T.V/audio store and instantly said, screw plasma, screw LCD, screw LED. This, has the best picture quality of them all and its freaking huge.

  • @Nopartyforme82 yeah plus a big ass screen tv with no motion blur 120ghz its worth it

  • what is the second movie? awesome tv

  • @madhattercig - the titles that I popped in while demoing on this visit to the reseller, were "Up", and "Sunshine"

  • going to get one too...! Wow Congrats

  • hell ya, this is sharp!

  • I just noticed on the video that the white hair of the old man glows under colored background or its like the white color bleeds out. im not sure if it applies to all tv's or its has something to do with the settings. do you happen to experience this on your laservue?

  • @praetorarsonist69 - I see none of this on the LaserVue in my home. I suspect it was an environmental related issue caused by a combination of the room lighting, the way the display model was calibrated, and my handicam's video mode.
