@britishmikey Female opera singers often show their bussom when performing, like it's part of the furniture. I demand equal rights...now what about the boys? hahaha
@SuperDonna888 i cant believe they flaggd your comment as spam! it was hilarious! look ill tell you now superdonna, that there's no way i woula have wanted to see pavarotti's sausage hangin out as he was singing nessun dorma. mind you, nessun dorma in italian means "no sleep", which i guess would have been appropriate if he did have his member on display throughout the rendition... i wouldn't have slept for weeks!!! (in a bad way, not good i might add)
@britishmikey Aw really, did they flag my comment? them rotten humourless Pavarotti sausages! O well never mind, I like your humour. Anyway not surprised you would't want to see Pav's divining rod vibrating with his thunderous voice, great though he was!. I might be interested in that chap Andrea Botchelli though, even though he's got a girl name! lol oh and thanks ever so much, for that much appreciated compliment and salute, I hope you salted twice, 'cos they're worth it ! hahaha
@SuperDonna888 superdonna you're welcome. if i ever met you i would indeed salute twice, once with my right hand and at the other with my middle hand. peace.
This song is so beautiful. I remember when I was younger and my dad had an old record player and he used to play this for me. Since them a lot has changed but my love for this song hasn't. It makes me feel happy. :')
She has a lovely voice. But it is too bad that she is forced to market herself as a tawdry sex symbol in sleazy outfits. Ultimately, it will backfire on her, as she will attract an audience who is more interested in her trashy photos than her talent. She needs to define who she is -- either a serious mezzo soprano, or a pin-up bimbo.
@CalifGirl09 It is not her choice of clothing that defines her as a singer, if she feels more comfortable in those clothes than let her be, there is to much stigma is attached to what everyone wears, she has an amazingly beautiful voice, she needn't be stereotypical long gown to be a serious mezzo soprano.
@NightTemptation that is a fantastic comment. got me thinking about other professions, such as tennis and golf where there is a strict dress code so that the sport conveys a "correct" message. i appreciate that these sports, as with classical singing probably want to portray an air of respectability, and as such might frown upon Katherine's choice of attire, but coming back to the golf comparison... I just wanna see Tiger Woods come out to play the US Open in his dressing gown u know???
@CalifGirl09 She does NOT " need to define who she is .. either a serious mezzo soprano, or a pinup bimbo."
She is not either of these. She is a popular singer of great interest to a lot of people who may or may not be interested in Baroque, Classical, or Romantic Opera. Even Cherubino (which another poster mentioned she might sing) would not be out of place. For serious opera buffs it might not sound like much, but for those not serious opera buffs... why not? People do like Carlo Rossi.
This is what happens when pop stars wake up one morning and get the whim to perform actual music. They butcher beautiful songs such as this. She says she plans to sing Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro and Carmen, probably the only two operas she's ever heard of. Good luck with that.
I HATE THOSE PHOTOS!!!!!!!! Why would you sing such a beautiful and religious song while trying to show off body parts that would better be left alone?!?!?!?!
Also, I really hate how everybody keeps talking about "pies and Jesus"!!!! Just a bit disrepectful, don't you think?!
@DaisyOwner24 Um, her body is made to appeal to be well...a woman! And those pics are more clothing that the standard bikini at the beach.
and second of all, why cant people talk both about a man and a food? I wonder what kind of pie would actually be his favorite. Pecan pie, apple pie, pizza? Idk, its kinda cool to think about. Even thought this song isnt about pies Im assuming, but someone brought it up.... not really disrespectful tho...
@capio78 There is more documentary evidence and archeological evidence for the existence of a first Century Palestinian holy man called Jesus than there is for say Pontious Pilate. (See the 'Jewish War' by Josephus for instance) The point is was he who his followers claimed he was. They believed it so strongly that they literally went to their deaths rather than deny him. Now don't embarrass yourself further with your foolish talk, even athiests think Jesus existed.
@tirnaog09 There is? Would you like to name some? There's no primary evidence whatsoever. I'll quite happily go along with the suggestion that others didn't exist, but don't use that as an excuse to say Jesus ever lived. He didn't. All reports are from people who were not of his time.
@capio78 So these Palestinian fishermen were crucified, beheaded etc because they believed in a guy they never met? A ghost perhaps. Get real. The issue has never been about his existence, its about his claims.
@tirnaog09 You really need to start reading history, rather than believing lies from a book of bullshit. Of course there are debates over whether jesus lived or not. The fact that there is not one piece of primacy evidence proving he did live suggests he probably didn't. His story is a rehashing of Horus, the Egyptian sun God. Education can emancipate you from a life time of lies and conditioning.
@VinnyLog au contraire, you are prolonging invented History for simpletons. Jesus is not an accepted historical figure. There is no primary evidence to suggest he lived. He was a story made up to control the uncivilised masses 2000 years ago, nobody thought morons with play stations and airmiles would still believe it. No need to wish you a nice day, the deluded seldom suffer from angst.
@capio78 Maybe it shouldnt be called evidence, but its a reason why he's classed as an historical figure...viz: Jewish writings at the time he was meant to have lived, refer to him, yet these Jews were totally against such a cult as Christianity. Also, one or two prominent Roman's referred to him. Can't remember if they were centurion's or what, but they too would have loved to have done away with this cult uprising. I think one of the Jewish figures was Josephus, while the Roman was Tacitus
I know what you mean. It strikes me that a lot of modern performers of sacred music don't really understand the pieces they are singing, they have no true sympathy with the text.
@DaisyOwner24 At the sametime I think it shows that we can hav both today, it is a modern world, we hav learnt so much about the past now. Its just people hav leaned too far the other way now. I think Katherine Jenkins balances all this right and shows that women can b sexy, and beautiful she doesnt show too much, shes still a "Lady" in every sense of the word. Remember Old starlets like Vera Lyn, I bet the old women of her day prob disapproved of her at that time wen she was young and popular
@RaikenXion I'm sorry, KJ willingly goes along with her marketing machine and flaunts her face and body in an attempt to gloss over the fact that she has a less than wonderful voice and sings with inferior technique. Her vibrato is intrusive, she gulps audibly for air every few notes, and forces her lower register in an attempt to sound more like a mezzo than the soprano with no top notes that she actually is.
@arpeggio1358 Say what u must, thats ur opinion and ur entitled to it. But I think this woman is awesome, Katherine is one of the few modern women today that has proper morals, dignity and standards. Shes not stumbling out of nightclubs at 3am, baring all for all to see. Shes not a socialite, stamping her name on perfumes shes never even had any involvement in making, or clothes lines of hers. U dont hear bout her off with string of men, yes shes dated. Atleast she hasnt sold herself out.
@RaikenXion But she does flaunt her body, and yes, by letting her marketing machine hype her less than stellar vocal talent, she has sold herself out. I don't care if she markets perfume or clothing. She is selling out by using her looks to sell CDs. Her voice is really not all that great, but with her looks, she has made herself popuklar. She is not awesome, just an average singer.
@arpeggio1358 I dont think so at all, I think shes beautiful and very gud singer, she sings classical and for a modern woman her age today thats quite rare, wen all women r bothered bout today is being pops stars and just pure celebs. Many of which hardly right their own music and all flaunt them selves and use their faces to sell their songs. Shes a beautiful woman, y not show her beauty, is she expected to b totally old fashioned just becus shes in2 the classical?? lol
@RaikenXion But Jenkins IS a pop star and a pure celeb. She's a pop opera (popera) singer who sings isolated arias, not an opera singer. Popera isn't classical or opera. Nobody is saying she should be old fashioned, but she does use her face and body to sell CD's. Do you really think she'd be popular if she were fat and unattractive? Look at all the comments on her videos about her face and body parts. And please don't confuse popularity with greatness.

@arpeggio1358 yeh u can class her as pop/opera singer, becus shes modern thats wot Im saying. Ofcourse shes gonna get those kind of comments, they all do. I like her and admire her anyway, not saying shes perfect or anything, but shes nothing like most women today.
@arpeggio1358 Yeh u can class her as pop/opera singer, and thats wot Im trying to say shes modern. Well I admire her alot, not saying shes perfect or the greatest singer of our time or anything like lol. But shes alot better than most women stars today. Not alot of women her age get in2 classical and all that like shes has, so I think gud for her.
@RaikenXion She's okay as long as she sticks to pop music. She doesn't sing classical, but classical crossover, which is the same as popera. It isn't true opera or true classical. I prefer that popera and opera are not confused. Poprea singers sing isolated opera arias, and generally use microphones as their voices aren't powerful enough to sing without one. Opera singers sing roles in complete operas in opera houses and never use microphones except in large outdoor venues with poor acoustics.
@arpeggio1358 Id just respsect, admire her for what she does, weather she is pop/classical crossover. I just think theres not alot of young artists (or atleast in this country and the west mostly) that do what she does thats all. Shes modern so as you say "popera" as she may be considered I think this is a very good thing, becus especially in this day and age, its hard enough to inspire young people in2 these things that r classical and opera, becus of the stigma they consider it old fashioned

@arpeggio1358 So I think for sum1 Like Katherine to come along and do what she is dong being a Poprea artist or whatever u want to call it, I think is good. If she was a total Opera singer or classical singer only, many young people wud probably not b that interested in her and class her as sum posh toff. Becus I know alot of young people wen u ask them bout Oprea they think only rich posh people like Oprea lol. So I like that Katherine sings sum popular music today and even in a classical style
@arpeggio1358 So I think that for sum1 like Katherine to come along today and sing pop songs, even in a classical way is Inspiring the young generation to maybe get in2 this sort of thing and thats really good. If she was just a pure classical or oprea singer, many young people might not b that interested in her, cus I know young people wen u ask them bout classical they mostly think oprea is for rich, posh people lol. So its good that Katherine blends the 2 I think.
@RaikenXion As long as people don't think she's an opera singer. BTW, opera isn't just for rich, posh people or older people. Many different types of people; young, older, rich, middle class, poor, all like opera and attend live opera. You might try listening to Elina Garanca, Joyce DiDonato, Frederica von Stade, and Rinat Shaham, who are real opera singers of the same voice classificartion (mezzo-soprano) as KJ. You might be surprised and actually like them. They're all on YouTube.
@arpeggio1358 Ofocurse Opera isnt just for rich people, or atleast not today its not, but this wasnt always the case. And many young people stigmatize Opera as for rich upper class people, so u might want to tell them that. Wot Im saying is Katherine shows that its not just for rich, old and all these stereo-types. And also Katherine is from UK or Welsh even, all those u mentioned r foreign arnt they?? Im saying that while Katherine may not exactly b the best shes still very gud, a Inspiration.
@RaikenXion Frederica vonStade and Joyce DiDonato are Americans. More American operatic mezzo-sopranos are Marilyn Horne, Susan Graham, and Stephanie Blythe. BTW, Wales, where KJ is from is a part of the UK.
@arpeggio1358 American so yes like I said foreign, and also thats y I said about Katherine Jenkins bieng from the UK or Welsh even. Like u can b from the UK and b Scottish, like the tennis player Andy Murray, he is Scottish but classed as UK, or British shall I say, save confusion lol.
@RaikenXion You're from the UK. Janet Baker and Alice Coote are operatic mezzos from the UK. What does it matter where a singer is from? Why don't you try listening to some of the ones I mentioned? You might like them.
@arpeggio1358 And y dont u try listening to wot Im saying. Im simply saying that Katherine is a very talented and good artist becus she blends both classical, opera and pop musics, and that is helping inspire the young generation of today. Its already hard enough tapping in2 their interests and getting them interested in other things. So wen they see a young artist like Katherine who is of their age and is doing wots shes doing and is from the same country it will appeal to them.
@RaikenXion If you think I don't like KJ because she isn't an American, you would be wrong. My favorite singers come from all over the world, including the UK. The voice is what matters, not where a singer is from.
@arpeggio1358 Ur totally wrong there, thats not wot I think, and I didnt say that at all. Wot Im saying is that Katherine Jenkins is a British artist, so she inspires young people from Britain the UK in wot shes does. Thats wot Im saying, wen u mentioned all those other artists, yes they may be very gud I dont doubt that, Im just simply saying they're foreign and not from UK. You get a sense of pride and big inspiration wen a artist comes up from ur own country dont you.
@arpeggio1358 Ur totally wrong there, thats not wot I think, and I didnt say that at all. @RaikenXion Then why not listen to Alice Coote and Janet Baker, and see if you like them and have pride in them? Sure I'm proud of American singers, but if I like a singers's voice, I don't care where that singer is from.
@arpeggio1358 Y does it seem to matter to u so much wot I shud like and show interest in?? Plz stop trying to encourage me to like other artists, I like wot I like just as you like wot u like and thats it.
@arpeggio1358 I like everything about Katherine. I like that shes a attractive, young woman thats in2 classical and opera style music. and I find that rare with many young women today. Shes not like most young women today that u hear about, especially ones that r considered celebs. Shes a dignified real woman with morals, a great example of the modern woman of today.
@DaisyOwner24 Because Jenkins shamelessly flaunts her body at her fans as part of the marketing scheme that makes her popular even though she has a mediocre voice and sings with terrible technique.
@tadge72 Totally! It would be okay if she actually did a better job than Sarah, but she doesn't and it's sad. Just sad. She's a great mezzo soprano, but goodness, it makes her look bad after singing Sarah Brightman songs.
I'm sorry, this song is beautiful and very beautifully sung, but PLEASE!! That first picture is disturbing. She is of course a beautiful woman, but honestly, you needn't use it for Pie Jesu!
Beautiful version,, beautiful singer,,,, beautiful lady. I saw her in croke park, when Ireland played Wales in a game of football,,, for the Americans,, real football, not the trowball that you's call football, she got the biggest cheer of the whole event, and a load of wolf whistles as well when she sang the Welsh national anthem. Really lovely.
Your point is taken. I think she has a nice tone to her voice and if she puts in the intensive training unique to opera like she intends and stops the 60-70 performances she now does(hence the mic), hopefully she will be successful there as well. Among opera singers, I have heard Renee Fleming use amazing technical ability and she began as a jazz artist so never say never. Peace.
We have 54 idiots among us, I propose hunting them. You must be a total idiot to give thumbs down to this. It is heavenly music, hearing this sounds fill my heart with emotion. Thank you for posting.
What a perfect photo to accompany a sacred song. NOT! Ms Jenkins' bust and rear echelon are hardly appropriate to this recording. Perhaps the photo is meant to distract from Ms. Jenkins bad technique and loud, obvious breathing. This isn't a classical or opera singer, but rather a pop singer who sings classical/opera material.
@arpeggio1358 You must be a world class performer or at least a well respected critic to have the audacity to attach such venom to a beautiful song like this!
@gczwarkiel The photo is inappropriate. "Well, i guess you're a performer" or words like it are just another buzz phrase used by popera fans to attack people who disagree with them. These buzz phrases have no validity. With all de respect, Jenkins simply isn't a classical performer. She's a pop performer who sings classical material.
@arpeggio1358 Well, I sometimes get distracted by her stunning beauty and perhaps her taste in dresses purpously emphasize this. I don't feel it is necessary in her case. I think she has a beautiful voice and it can stand alone.I am not too interested in categorizing singers or instrumentalists but in interviews she is the first to say she is not an opera singer but rather sings classical music & pop. She says opera is a specialty craft unto itself & hopes to perform it in her future.
@gczwarkiel But she does dress this way. If she wants to be taken seriously, she should be dressed more appropriately when singing a 'Sacred Aria". I'm afraid that she will never perform in an opera unless she learns proper breathing and technique and learns to sing so that she can be heard without a mic. Mics are never used in opera houses. Her beauty won't get her anywhere in opera . She needs to have the voice and technique to sing opera. You'd think she'd have learned all this at the R.A.
@arpeggio1358 I like your channel. Tell me you like Habanera as performed by Anna Caterina Antonacci. I think the Y/T snippet show that her acting is well done and her voice is rich and expressive!
@gczwarkiel The album this piece of music comes from is called "Sacred Arias". Do you think the breasts and butt photo is appropriate for an album called "Sacred Arias"?
@MaidenintheHerPool: suggestive or not, it's only, and only, in YOUR own mind. According to the ayatoolahs and moolahs, even a woman's face can be "suggestive" -- that's why the burqa.

I might be interested in that chap Andrea Botchelli though, even though he's got a girl name! lol oh and thanks ever so much, for that much appreciated compliment and salute, I hope you salted twice, 'cos they're worth it ! hahaha

This song is so beautiful. I remember when I was younger and my dad had an old record player and he used to play this for me. Since them a lot has changed but my love for this song hasn't. It makes me feel happy. :')
Rainbow2766 9 months ago 2
She has a lovely voice. But it is too bad that she is forced to market herself as a tawdry sex symbol in sleazy outfits. Ultimately, it will backfire on her, as she will attract an audience who is more interested in her trashy photos than her talent. She needs to define who she is -- either a serious mezzo soprano, or a pin-up bimbo.
CalifGirl09 9 months ago
@CalifGirl09 It is not her choice of clothing that defines her as a singer, if she feels more comfortable in those clothes than let her be, there is to much stigma is attached to what everyone wears, she has an amazingly beautiful voice, she needn't be stereotypical long gown to be a serious mezzo soprano.
NightTemptation 9 months ago 2
@NightTemptation that is a fantastic comment. got me thinking about other professions, such as tennis and golf where there is a strict dress code so that the sport conveys a "correct" message. i appreciate that these sports, as with classical singing probably want to portray an air of respectability, and as such might frown upon Katherine's choice of attire, but coming back to the golf comparison... I just wanna see Tiger Woods come out to play the US Open in his dressing gown u know???
britishmikey 6 months ago

Even thought this song isnt about pies Im assuming, but someone brought it up.... not really disrespectful tho...
great song btw

capio78 6 months ago
@capio78 There is more documentary evidence and archeological evidence for the existence of a first Century Palestinian holy man called Jesus than there is for say Pontious Pilate. (See the 'Jewish War' by Josephus for instance) The point is was he who his followers claimed he was. They believed it so strongly that they literally went to their deaths rather than deny him. Now don't embarrass yourself further with your foolish talk, even athiests think Jesus existed.
tirnaog09 6 months ago
@tirnaog09 There is? Would you like to name some? There's no primary evidence whatsoever. I'll quite happily go along with the suggestion that others didn't exist, but don't use that as an excuse to say Jesus ever lived. He didn't. All reports are from people who were not of his time.
capio78 6 months ago
@capio78 So these Palestinian fishermen were crucified, beheaded etc because they believed in a guy they never met? A ghost perhaps. Get real. The issue has never been about his existence, its about his claims.
tirnaog09 6 months ago
@tirnaog09 You really need to start reading history, rather than believing lies from a book of bullshit. Of course there are debates over whether jesus lived or not. The fact that there is not one piece of primacy evidence proving he did live suggests he probably didn't. His story is a rehashing of Horus, the Egyptian sun God. Education can emancipate you from a life time of lies and conditioning.

VinnyLog 5 months ago
@VinnyLog au contraire, you are prolonging invented History for simpletons. Jesus is not an accepted historical figure. There is no primary evidence to suggest he lived. He was a story made up to control the uncivilised masses 2000 years ago, nobody thought morons with play stations and airmiles would still believe it. No need to wish you a nice day, the deluded seldom suffer from angst.
capio78 5 months ago
@capio78 Maybe it shouldnt be called evidence, but its a reason why he's classed as an historical figure...viz: Jewish writings at the time he was meant to have lived, refer to him, yet these Jews were totally against such a cult as Christianity. Also, one or two prominent Roman's referred to him. Can't remember if they were centurion's or what, but they too would have loved to have done away with this cult uprising. I think one of the Jewish figures was Josephus, while the Roman was Tacitus

RaikenXion 4 months ago
@RaikenXion I'm sorry, KJ willingly goes along with her marketing machine and flaunts her face and body in an attempt to gloss over the fact that she has a less than wonderful voice and sings with inferior technique. Her vibrato is intrusive, she gulps audibly for air every few notes, and forces her lower register in an attempt to sound more like a mezzo than the soprano with no top notes that she actually is.
arpeggio1358 4 months ago
@arpeggio1358 Say what u must, thats ur opinion and ur entitled to it. But I think this woman is awesome, Katherine is one of the few modern women today that has proper morals, dignity and standards. Shes not stumbling out of nightclubs at 3am, baring all for all to see. Shes not a socialite, stamping her name on perfumes shes never even had any involvement in making, or clothes lines of hers. U dont hear bout her off with string of men, yes shes dated. Atleast she hasnt sold herself out.
RaikenXion 4 months ago
@RaikenXion But she does flaunt her body, and yes, by letting her marketing machine hype her less than stellar vocal talent, she has sold herself out. I don't care if she markets perfume or clothing. She is selling out by using her looks to sell CDs. Her voice is really not all that great, but with her looks, she has made herself popuklar. She is not awesome, just an average singer.
arpeggio1358 4 months ago
@arpeggio1358 I dont think so at all, I think shes beautiful and very gud singer, she sings classical and for a modern woman her age today thats quite rare, wen all women r bothered bout today is being pops stars and just pure celebs. Many of which hardly right their own music and all flaunt them selves and use their faces to sell their songs. Shes a beautiful woman, y not show her beauty, is she expected to b totally old fashioned just becus shes in2 the classical?? lol
RaikenXion 4 months ago

RaikenXion 4 months ago
@arpeggio1358 Yeh u can class her as pop/opera singer, and thats wot Im trying to say shes modern. Well I admire her alot, not saying shes perfect or the greatest singer of our time or anything like lol. But shes alot better than most women stars today. Not alot of women her age get in2 classical and all that like shes has, so I think gud for her.
RaikenXion 4 months ago
@RaikenXion She's okay as long as she sticks to pop music. She doesn't sing classical, but classical crossover, which is the same as popera. It isn't true opera or true classical. I prefer that popera and opera are not confused. Poprea singers sing isolated opera arias, and generally use microphones as their voices aren't powerful enough to sing without one. Opera singers sing roles in complete operas in opera houses and never use microphones except in large outdoor venues with poor acoustics.
arpeggio1358 4 months ago

RaikenXion 4 months ago
@arpeggio1358 So I think that for sum1 like Katherine to come along today and sing pop songs, even in a classical way is Inspiring the young generation to maybe get in2 this sort of thing and thats really good. If she was just a pure classical or oprea singer, many young people might not b that interested in her, cus I know young people wen u ask them bout classical they mostly think oprea is for rich, posh people lol. So its good that Katherine blends the 2 I think.
RaikenXion 4 months ago
@RaikenXion As long as people don't think she's an opera singer. BTW, opera isn't just for rich, posh people or older people. Many different types of people; young, older, rich, middle class, poor, all like opera and attend live opera. You might try listening to Elina Garanca, Joyce DiDonato, Frederica von Stade, and Rinat Shaham, who are real opera singers of the same voice classificartion (mezzo-soprano) as KJ. You might be surprised and actually like them. They're all on YouTube.
arpeggio1358 4 months ago
@arpeggio1358 Ofocurse Opera isnt just for rich people, or atleast not today its not, but this wasnt always the case. And many young people stigmatize Opera as for rich upper class people, so u might want to tell them that. Wot Im saying is Katherine shows that its not just for rich, old and all these stereo-types. And also Katherine is from UK or Welsh even, all those u mentioned r foreign arnt they?? Im saying that while Katherine may not exactly b the best shes still very gud, a Inspiration.
RaikenXion 4 months ago
@RaikenXion Frederica vonStade and Joyce DiDonato are Americans. More American operatic mezzo-sopranos are Marilyn Horne, Susan Graham, and Stephanie Blythe. BTW, Wales, where KJ is from is a part of the UK.
arpeggio1358 4 months ago
@arpeggio1358 American so yes like I said foreign, and also thats y I said about Katherine Jenkins bieng from the UK or Welsh even. Like u can b from the UK and b Scottish, like the tennis player Andy Murray, he is Scottish but classed as UK, or British shall I say, save confusion lol.
RaikenXion 4 months ago

RaikenXion 4 months ago
@RaikenXion If you think I don't like KJ because she isn't an American, you would be wrong. My favorite singers come from all over the world, including the UK. The voice is what matters, not where a singer is from.
arpeggio1358 4 months ago
@arpeggio1358 Ur totally wrong there, thats not wot I think, and I didnt say that at all. Wot Im saying is that Katherine Jenkins is a British artist, so she inspires young people from Britain the UK in wot shes does. Thats wot Im saying, wen u mentioned all those other artists, yes they may be very gud I dont doubt that, Im just simply saying they're foreign and not from UK. You get a sense of pride and big inspiration wen a artist comes up from ur own country dont you.

Peace.

What a perfect photo to accompany a sacred song. NOT! Ms Jenkins' bust and rear echelon are hardly appropriate to this recording. Perhaps the photo is meant to distract from Ms. Jenkins bad technique and loud, obvious breathing. This isn't a classical or opera singer, but rather a pop singer who sings classical/opera material.
arpeggio1358 1 year ago
@arpeggio1358 You must be a world class performer or at least a well respected critic to have the audacity to attach such venom to a beautiful song like this!
gczwarkiel 1 year ago 33
@gczwarkiel The photo is inappropriate. "Well, i guess you're a performer" or words like it are just another buzz phrase used by popera fans to attack people who disagree with them. These buzz phrases have no validity. With all de respect, Jenkins simply isn't a classical performer. She's a pop performer who sings classical material.
arpeggio1358 1 year ago
@arpeggio1358 Well, I sometimes get distracted by her stunning beauty and perhaps her taste in dresses purpously emphasize this. I don't feel it is necessary in her case. I think she has a beautiful voice and it can stand alone.I am not too interested in categorizing singers or instrumentalists but in interviews she is the first to say she is not an opera singer but rather sings classical music & pop. She says opera is a specialty craft unto itself & hopes to perform it in her future.
gczwarkiel 1 year ago
@gczwarkiel But she does dress this way. If she wants to be taken seriously, she should be dressed more appropriately when singing a 'Sacred Aria". I'm afraid that she will never perform in an opera unless she learns proper breathing and technique and learns to sing so that she can be heard without a mic. Mics are never used in opera houses. Her beauty won't get her anywhere in opera . She needs to have the voice and technique to sing opera. You'd think she'd have learned all this at the R.A.
arpeggio1358 1 year ago
