Socialised Medicine

There isn't really free market medicine anywhere in the 1st world, only different ways the government has interfered with the market (some of which are, and some of which aren't, socialised medicine).

American examples include:

FDA veto on drugs.

Gov't increasing price of med school above free market price.

Requiring licences of doctors.

Requiring prescriptions.

etc

all of which are very well intentioned, but sadly very counter-productive. (which is a very counter-intuitive truth)

The queues can be quite long, but its for a reason.

Example, i had skin infection had to wait several hours to be seen and treated, all in all i was in and out within 3 or 4 hours.

However, when i was in a crash crash and needed my head stiched up (with a whopping 3 stiches i believe) i was probably in and out within an hour.

If it's an emergency you will get seen very quickly, and it wall all free, only thing i had to pay for was a taxi home.

Money talks in America - that's all!I was commenting today at another channel WHY in America, price for meds are 4 times higher than Canada, Europe, India, Brazil et cetera...They spend 3 billion dollars a year for advertising all kinds of drugs thrgough the media.They incite population to try and suggest to their doctors to try anything new..But reality starts kicking in , with the economic state of things now, millions are losing their insurances and have NO way of getting treatment. ABSURD.

Because the politicians have convinced them that Socialised Medicine is communist, evil and that it will lead to America being taken over by commies.

The Cold War may be over, but Communism still strikes an irrational fear in Americans. Apparently socialised libraries are okay, but something that could save someone's life isn't.
