Correct me if I'm wrong, but in DotA2, Silencer's ultimate no longer MUTES the game for the duration of the ultimate like it does in DotA anymore, does it?

@DotaCinema So far the heroes seem really overpowered. Does every hero shine in some way? Like Silencer basically is annoying at silencing everyone, and Anti-Mage is a well Anti-Mage. Will you also add more newer heroes that aren't from DoTA?

@BaxterXenon Silencer scales well late game but he's a glass cannon. A fed right click carry hero can rip him apart even if silencer is stacked with optimal gear. As for Anti-mage, he's rather versatile. He can take on casters but also kill the low mana reserves of STR and AGI heros late game with high damage items to boot.

Try it when it comes out and you will see that teamplay, positioning and playing smart are way more important than the duration of your stuns. Shadow Shaman for example can disable someone for like 8 seconds. but a smart enemy team would focus him and kill him in 3secs.

Or you could always buy a black king bar. It will give you magic immunity for ~10 secs and Shadow Shaman won't be able to do shit!! DotA is fun

@desorienter You can always try the first dota. Just keep in mind that if you come from LoL, the mechanics are insanely unforgiving and you actually have to be good at micro for certain heroes that rely on couriers, summons, or stolen creeps. Also, the meta in dota is much more concrete and hashed out; team comp is more than just tank, jungle, support, ap, ad, but has more factors regarding hero synyrgy. Also, cs is much harder cuz of denying etc. And diving is easier cuz of less tower dmg.

@desorienter Basically to sum it up, continuing from my previous statement, dota is less farm oriented and more ganking oriented than LoL if you came from LoL. I started playing dota before moving to LoL, and I have never tried Hon so I can't really say anything about Hon so take my advice with a grain of salt. Keep in mind, dota mechanics originally used the entire WC3 interface so it might be kind of hard getting used to at first. Also, u have to customize ur own hotkeys as a result.

LoL takes a bit more skill to play since more than half of the abilities are aimed skillshots and to deny your opponent's growth you must do something called zoning, which is harder than last hitting your own minions, and all champs scale into late game, not just carries. Dota is also fun, since the abilities are retardedly strong, and so are their counters. Both are fun and take skill, so why bash, you asshole?
