  • I am a hammer thrower otherwise

  • sorry this question but what are you problem this year? are you hurt? why you dont go wyc? i believe you throw 80 meter in this year...

  • Hi. I couldn't make it to WYC this year due to an injury, I'll hopefully be back on track later this year with a result. Thanks and good luck!

  • world record, world record!

  • well to be honest its from the technique because i dont really i dont really take thst much strength training my coach just gives me jumps pullups situps runningwalking with hand on bar and i never lift weight because he says my body is growing

  • Then 54 is very good. Why don't you upload a vid of you throwing?

  • wow great by the way i had one question im 14 ok and i throw 54 metres with the

    5kg is that good?

  • 54 is very good. But you have to ask yourself how you throw far, is it because of good technique, because of strength or whatever. But 54 is very good. I did 57m, but that was in the end of the season.

  • @ohedd

Did you throw that distance, while you already did weighttraining or without it?

And how old were you when you start hammer throwing?

I am decathlete and throwing now for two years, My pb is around 50m, but I don't do weighttraining I am already strong, but have to keep training on my technique..

Next year I while specialise me more on the hammer:)

  • @Ooji6345 I had practically just started lifting heavy weights by then, but I have been training technique with light weights since I was 14. I started throwing the hammer when I was 12. Good to hear about you specializing on hammer :) good luck!

  • @ohedd

Okay, this winter I am going to start with it. Before then I must throw a lot more from the legs and feel the hammer!

Goodluck for you too and with the World Juniors Championships!

  • Mårten gås

  • skärpning.

  • fuck... Im 16 this year, only thrown the 5kg hammer 50.20meters so far .. was kinda aiming for atleast 55m this season, but now I want 70... lol

  • just work hard and make it happen. No need to rush, just take your time and dont get any injuries

  • very good technique. how far are you throwing now? what kind of lifts do you do?

  • Thanks man. Longer. The regulare lifts, with a lot of hanging snatch and clean.

  • Congratulations.... you are officially the No.1 in the rankings of this year..

  • ya, thanks man. how's it going for you?

  • well, i cant say its bad,,,but still cant throw outside, so just working on technique. :)

  • how much snow have you got? the winter skipped us this year.

  • it was like super bad on December, now its more like -5,, but still bad enough ,,,,so you've been throwing outside??

  • yep. -5 at worst, but still no snow. It's been a little frosty, but nothing bothering really. I dont like indoor throwing anyway. the best judgement of your throw is the distance of it which is pretty hard to tell indoors...

  • well...my coach has some magic statics that say 20 min the weight is 60 on the hammer....XD....

    buuut ......

  • Haha, yea..

  • good tecnique!

  • im jealous of your technique..

  • Hey I know you? totteli ah-sum

  • yea, vem är du då?

  • perhaps knrw? or nt knrw but kne or krd? no1 nose

  • so your going to world youths then? good throw.

  • how old are you? are you going to wolrd youths in italy?

  • 16. yes, probably

  • reminds me a lot of Olli-Pekka's release, with the following step. nice throw man!

  • You can really see the back giving you problems at the end... I don't know how soon you can get up to the 7.26kg.

  • What do you mean? I'd be happy if you could share some tips with me?

  • Only at the end.. a stronger, straighter back would most likely produce a better throw. It looks like you let your back support go before the throw was finished. That might be why you fell over a little at the end.

    That's the only tip.

  • Thx, a theory I have is that the hammer head's lowest point is past zero degrees in the last turn, which results in worse angle of release at 90 degrees. To get height I therefor spin slightly more than 90, say 100 degrees in the release. This redirect the direction of the power which causes my fucked up balance. Now I try to just keep the hammer's lowest point a little to my right in the entry. It's worked fine and it has also improved my 7.26k result. Still, I gotta improve my back strength

  • That's an interesting theory.

But I believe if you start at 90 degrees, that's where the low point should be. So if you get a better result spinning til 100 at the finish, maybe u didn't start turning on time.

I use Sedych as my picture for perfect technique and his rotations are perfectly symmetrical where the low and high point is 0 and 180.

But keep doing what you're doing, maybe you're right. I think science supports the other method though.

  • It's a little different between 3 and 4 turns when the 4 turn rotation on toe is much less dynamic, than If you throw wit 3 turns with your heel.

In some occations its more about the psychology rather than science. I dont know...

  • the turn were really smoth and progresive...

but the release can be improved...

  • are you planning to go to the next youth world championships????? they are in brixen jeje

and im trying to go too....

  • Yes, my plans is to go there. Just as long as i stay away from injuries and stuff like that, it should all go fine. You think you'll have a shot on YWV 09?

  • yeah when i stated i couldnt do a push up or a sit up coz i was nuffin but a fat lazy shit, then i did hammer and yeah 105kg is the weight i am roughly all the time. yeah i agree coz im doin more weights than you in cleans and all but i cant throw that far as you. thanks so do you, you seem to have great feeling with the hammer

  • nice throw and ur definetly gettin better

how long ya been doin hammer for

  • Ive been throwing since 04. about the back padding on the 70,80 clip, I had som back injuries earlier this season, but its ok now. Gotta get a little stronger. 70k in clean is not enough to throw 70m wit 5k and still keeping your health

  • Grymt Elias!
