I searched "l4d community is horrible" in google after being kicked too many times to count, even if I practically carried the damn team. L4D is an amazing game, it's the people that ruined it.
Community is ruining L4D, or whats left of it, but you cant really compare it to TF2 or other games.. obviously, while playing 12v12, you dont have to worry about someone sucking on your team, while in 4v4 its a huge difference.. and I guess people heard it a lot of times already, but the chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Apparently, some people have to be winning all the time, which is why rage and votekick happen..
@sw174 Yup... My friend got raged that and then kicked from the demo for shooting a Boomer through a door. Nobody got puked/sploded on, but he was still kicked. Gaming communities, in general, can be very immature.
L4D is a really competitive game in the first place. Rarely will you come across a versus where the teams are evenly matched. Four friends will scour the lobbies searching for people to stomp.
It's not fun to play against people that suck, or vice versa.
Thus, people get angry. And when those people get angry, theres sure to be a troller not far behind...

And is it just me? Or did the kid saying "Damn, the person playing Zoey sucks balls" sound like Rochelle starting off saying "Damn! I'm down/need some help" or whatever line it is.
That's why I hate online L4D. Too hostile. Funny how Team Fortress 2 is so social and fun while L4D is largely based on skill and fury. The kick function could be the reason why it's hostile. If someone sucks or is annoying you can kick them instantly. This pisses folks off and can end up in bad blood on teams. Also the one sidedness of L4D causes a lot of fustration for teams. So many players are bent on winning so they don't look bad and/or get raped by the infected.
This sums it up nicely...
