  • an amazing performance. one of my all-time favorite pieces.

  • My former teacher

  • Cristian Bănăţeanu. Isn't that the correct spelling of your name?

  • very nice performance, well done

  • Very solid performance in the Russian style...beautiful contrast in coloring and broad melodic line. Horowitz's interpretation is fine for Horowitz. You don't have to sound like him. Just keep playing to sound like you want to...expressing your own inner self. Lovely interpretation!

  • very, very good. rachmaninoff was briefly one of my fave composers about half my life ago. when i think on him this is actually one of his pieces i'd most like to play well.

if i played him as well as you do, i'd have stayed a piano major.

salute. you do that piece justice, imho.

  • why briefly?

  • I am currently learning to play this piece. Wow - incredible job. It's a beast of a piece to play, and you did it excellently well. How long did it take you to get to this level?

  • he's been playing for more than 20 years, a pro and my teacher.

  • Thank you for posting. I learned a lot from your interpretation.

  • To echo everyone's sentiments, congrats on your world class interpretation of this piece. It is very rare to see a pianist play this piece truly as an etude. The "etude", or "study" in this piece is the difficulty in keeping a legato melody going amongst all of the heavy chords- an impossible task, unless you are gifted with wonderful ears, which you are. Your attention and mastery of this most important aspect of the piece is obvious. Once again, congratulations.

  • this is a very powerful interpretation of the piece, probably the best ive heard ever.

most people cut it up alot, way too much, and end up making piece meal out of it.

    Bravo

  • Yes a brilliant performance but AmazonSamurai i dont believe this is anywhere near as good as Horowitz's performance which you didn't seem to think was very good at all.

  • So you think Horowitz can play anything better than me??? :D

    Regards :)

  • Prehaps^^. i hope that i will some day be as good as you though. keep it up!

  • One of the best performances I ever heard! I lot of nice sound, incredible good intonation and very interesting interpretation!Really well done!:):):)Bravo!

  • Благодаря, Инна!

  • So, this in my opinion was a very fine interpretation. You understood the contrasts, the change between piano and forte, the rhthm, the musical idea of the peace. It´s only a pity that the sound of the record wasn´t that professional. Nevertheless the way you interpreted this marvellous Etude was indeed better and more "Rachmaninoff-like"...then many, many other well-known and famous pianists, no doubt about it! Most respectful.

  • Thanks for your comment! I've looked at your profile and found myself among pianist such as Richter, Gould, Horowitz etc. in your favorites selection.

    Thanks for your evaluation!

  • Very good! I like your rounded sound! It's just perfect, no screaming during the performance what usually do other performers!!! Bravo!

  • Thanks :)

  • Perfect!
