This is called a poetic documentary and came up from the 1920s on. It was a poetic representation of the real world instead of an argumentive representation. In 1960, Bert Haanstra received an oscar for this documentary, called glas.
I've been a glassblower for 30 years and this film has been a long time favorite of all who've seen it in my trade. Much better quality than my old vhs copy too. Many thanks for posting, you just made my day!
Film critic Lalit Rao saw this film in 2008 at 13th International Film Festival of Kerala. An excellent documentary film by Bert Haanstra. He even wrote a review of this film for IMDB
I love this film. I don't know if Haanstra meant it, but the part where the robot arm gets stuck shows the triumph of human reason over blind cybernation.
it actually won the prize for the best shortfilm in Venice once....my absolut favorite...i get very nostagic when I watch it......and just the finest music.....

I'm really inspired by this video, is there anyway to get a higher resolution version? Can you buy this somewhere in a collection?

The part where he makes the jug handle is cool.
