  • Had to come by for another listen. Just so beautiful and tender. min :~)

  • hi min,

this song sorta hangs around for a while after you listen.

(the brain "idealizes" what it's heard, and will "improve" on the music if that person's musically inclined.) = aural memory.

you should d/l it, min. i don't mind at all.

the other version will be up soon.

    j.

  • TO ALL VIEWERS: thank you. as to the pix............. Ms Bellucci and Cristal are gorgeous, no doubt. up until lately, i was only marginally aware of them. now, it is an honor to feature them with my work. they are nothing like the real Amelia..... but they personify her perfectly. both women share beauty and grace......... rare qualities in any world this has depth, and will reward with repeated listenings. john robinson

  • thanks john.

pretty well, a fav of mine i've written, too.

    see ya soon,

    j.

  • Really nice stuff John! In all departments.

17 yrs junior is nothing, my wife is 26 yrs mine and lucky to be the recipient of all our experience L.O.L!! Keep up the great work! Cheers Pete!

  • thanks pete,

there's few more nice ballady type things to come.

and quite a few more vocals.

and there's a 2nd take on this one, recorded year later

    in other studio of mine.

you'll be able to see how the melody developed between the two.

    j.

  • Outstanding Video John..I enjoyed the music, it was beautiful. Loved the guitars.

    (5*) Sherry

  • thanks sherry,

glad you liked my efforts on the guitar.

another version of this will be upload soon - done a year later, on a nylon string guitar, instead of a steel string.

    best,

    j.

  • John...I am blown away...and nothing I could say to add to anything already said...I agree.(and will listen again) *****

  • tom,

please don't say that "blown away" phrase.

makes me think my music has murdered you.

    LOL (just kidding).......

    seriously, thank you.

big fan of yours as well.

    john r.

  • substitute with "breathless"

  • mate, was kidding.

just to have you listen is good enough, 4 me.

    jr.

  • tout le plaisir est pour moi

  • Really enjoyed the music. Beautiful work here, John, both in the photography and subject matter. Classic beauty never gets old.

  • how did you get here before me? pftttt!

  • tom,

    never mind.

    honored again, anyway.

    j.

  • bigben,

    again thanks for you support.

    'tis a wonderful thing.

we are presently working on a vocal version.

much different, of course, after a gap of 15+yrs.

mainly acoustic, like upright bass, guitars and such.

will be a while tho, my workload is very high here, atm.

    j.

  • I could feel the genuine passion, tenderness and longing that went into this composition.

  • thanks benny.

    unfortunately, still a compromised copy.

but, i tried 10x to upload a better one but it just wouldn't finish.

still i'm happy, you and other valued viewers like it.

it was a hard one to write for me, and like "Don't Look So Sad", i can only listen to it once in a while now.

    brings back too many memories.

    jr.

  • John, this music is very beautiful. It is heart felt and the guitar in this is powerfully emotional. In my experience as a yt singer (lol), I have found that it is VERY difficult putting ur heart and soul into a slower tempo song and being able to successfully deliver the emotion/music. You have done this masterfully. I know you have another version coming up. Give us a bit of time to enjoy this one first? lol. Great work my friend! min

  • thanks, min. yup. slow tempos are very hard. this is around 60bpm. ie, one 4/4 bar of music every 4secs. it was knowing what to leave out of this that was difficult. the next version has a different guitar on it and was recorded a year later. my head was in a different space - that's what should make it interesting. the arrangement's the same. btw. Amelia, the subject of this is a real person. gone now, tho. j.
  • @djrbfm What happened to her? Do you know?

  • no,

but i believe she headed back to the US, as she is American.

she looks nothing like either of the two women in my vid.

she was tall and blonde - blue eyes. swedish looking,

like agnetha from ABBA ,only prettier.

she was too young for me, min.

17yrs my junior, at the time.

the entire Amelia Cycle is about here, in one way or the other.

    jr.

  • Excellent music and playing as always John! Enjoyed the vid too! Cheers Sir!

  • ed,

    thank you.

glad you like my guitar playing on this.

    that's Monica Bellucci featured.

    lovely lady, isn't she. earthy.........

and the middle 25.75(LOL) features Linda Crystal another beautiful lady from a different time.......

i wish my feeble efforts at music could make ppl's hearts jump like these lady's pix do.....

    now THAT would be something.

    j.

  • contemporary classic video beauty for a contemporary instrumental classic.....I reminded of Phil Keaggy meets Marc Antoine...this music is romantic, reflective, entertaining & further inviting

JR this is sooo beautiful & will watch & listen to this again & again

    many thanks Maestro!!

    warm regards Gary

  • thanks gazza,

and it is not the only version.

i did another one a year later. same backing, just a different guitar part. will be up soon.

and this is different for me:

i had to slap my wrist so many times whilst writing it.

to keep it simple and elemental.

this, i would suggest, is the hardest thing in art to do.

thanks for the "maestro" title, gazza, but i'm afraid i fall very short of such an accolade, but your hearts in the right place, my dear.

    john r.

  • Very nice music and beautiful pictures 5*****

  • With or without YT co-operation, you have a fantastic upload. Thanks for the treat. Stars and hugs..Jan and Susan ♥
