I was choosing a choice and I holed (Tear) my paper in that question ... will an OMC correct my paper or it will not and i will have a big ZERO ??? I mean will i have the marks of the rest of the questions or i will not ??? I CAN'T SLEEP
What is the speed at 400dpi grayscale? I heard it slows down significantly at 400 dpi, and the DR-X10C manual shows a 50% speed loss at 400 dpi, but the 9080 manual doesn't list speeds at 400dpi at all, which makes me think it must be awfully slow at that resolution.
the unit is full duplex scanning, all in one motion, it scans top and bottom at the same time. We have 3 of these scanners. They are super fast and easy to use. Specifically for large duty cylces. We scan about 25,000 pages a day, but it could do more.
Thank you for the answer. Do you know how it behaves with really thin paper (like transparent copy paper) at an A3 size? In most "fast scanners" it rips it or crumbles it into the machine, jamming it.
Most of our scanners are onsite at various locations where I am not. I have ordered a new DR7580, which is about 20% slower. We are testing it out the week of April 28th. If you are not in a hurry I could test it for you. Usually you can test these at Canon Showroom as well.
I would really appreciate it if you could test it for me with a couple of dozen ultra-thin A3 sheets. Unfortunately where I am from there are no Canon Showrooms or I wouldn't be bothering you. I am saving money for buying one of these babies but first I've got to make sure it does the work we need. We have to scan really thin paper (so thin, almost transparent) and the MF6580 I have doesn't handle it that well (no full duplexing) or that fast.
Does anybody know how does it scan duplex (2 sides of the page)? Does it read them in one motion or does it scan one side, suck the page back in, flip it, scan the other side than flip it back to normal?
It has a top AND bottom contact style CCD. That's how it can scan duplex and color at the same speed as simplex. Great machine with very little maintenance. The feed/sep rollers come as a user replaceable kit.

This model is no longer made, but the replacement (Canon 9050C) retails about here in the $6500 U.S.

All doc scanners will go slower above 300 dpi. The industry is based around 200/300 dpi.

@ab1301 yeah canon scanners become slow on duplex & above than 300 dpi,
i think KODAK scanners are very very good scanners i used canon but now m using kodak scanners , kodak is very reliable
