@G3TLOOSHemi i agree, nissan is really good when compare to honda, i do have 2001 nissan maxima and the accord cant match it, even my friend got 2004 accord V6, but still maxima is better.but with gas prices more than $4 a gallon i do need 4 cyl.

i need some serious help,how good is the 2.5 engine, i am sure its not like the 3.5 but still keeping the gas prices in mind how good this engine performs.another thing is how it rides, how comfortable it is. is it noisy ,or quiet, or some how ok.i do have nissan maxima right now thinking to get another car,and stuck between altima and accord 4 and 6 cylinders.please let me know good and bad about both cars if any 1 knows,thanks

@mkg00179504 the QR motor is a pretty strong 4cyl motor. if gas milage is your issue, the V6 is only about 50 miles less per tank over the 4cyl depending on your driving habits. Its very quiet inside when it's stock. but once you start playing around with it, it can get louder. The only bad I feel is the CVT transmission. it is very limited in what it can achieve compared to the 6spd manual gearbox

@importroller hmmm thanks for the reply,ya with gas prices now a days i think 2.5 is a good option.heard a lot about CVT,some says its good some says they didnt like it,any way its their own opinion, i live in NYC so manual is hard to drive here in the city traffic.so will go with auto.i really like nissan but this is the first time i liked accord as well, altima is my first choice but what u think about accord,the only thing i dont like in accord is no low end torque.

@mkg00179504 if you want the 4cyl to be worth your while, i'd be absolutely sure to get a 6 speed manual. my car with the 6 speed (2010 coupe) is VERY peppy and torquey until you're going about 60. and some nismo add ons could never hurt

SL will come with Leather. And depending on which package you get, you will also get navigation. And you cant get the SL in a manual

the 07s have duals just like the 3.5. Only way to tell the difference if the car is debadged is the mirrors. the 3.5 has turn signals built in. But they fit the 2.5 too. the best way to tell though, is when it accelerates, Its not that fast

It DOES sound like the 350Z exhaust almost. Nice looking Altima, and again, one of the nicest ones you can buy for the money. I had the 05' and the '07s look even nicer with custom wheels and smoked/tinted rear lights.

where did you get that exhaust from? I called stillen today an they only had the cat back for the 3.5L and said they won't be coming out with a 2.5 for another month or two. I know nismo already makes the cat-back for 2.5, but i don't know if it would sound as good!

it wont fit. there is a slight difference in the downpipe for the 2.5 vs the 3.5. the 3.5 should have a deeper tone. I maybe getting it for my 3.5SE so if I do, ill post vids

u really shouldnt red line the car, believe its not a good idea with the cvt tranmission i have one and i used to do the same thing on the highway and when i was racing people... in the end i brought it in for its scheduled check up and oil change and filter change and all that crap and they said that the car looked like a teenager had been beating on it mechanically.... and i wouldnt had worried about that but mines on a lease!

That's the purpose of the CVT, to keep it at it's peak HP. It can't really be bad for the car, since it's made to stay at the redline. I don't see how they could release a car that 'breaks' under full acceleration.

Im guessing he got the 2.5SL instead of the 3.5SE to save afew thou on the prise tag. The SL is around 24 grand and so is the SE but the SL comes with a sunroof and leather seats, the SE doesnt. IF he woulda got the SE yea he would had a better engine but in this case he wanted to save some bucks and invest in custom rims and tail lights. Nice altima either way.

Yea the alloy rims that come with the 2.5 SL are cool but there only 16", kinda small. I think my folks are gona buy the Altima 2.5 SL this week, then im gona get my Altima Coupe 3.5 SE in October. Cant wait!

No, the 17" (5 spoke?) optional ones. Really cool looking, my parents are planning to buy a 2.5SL next week, my dad's looking at blue or white, I'm partial to the deep navy myself. It's one of the nicest looking Sedans money can buy, in my opinion. I'm looking for an '03 Z myself, I really love the whole line of Nissan/Infinity products.

Actually those 17" 5 spoke rims are for the Altima 3.5 SE modle only. U can check it out at the website if u want. Yea the altima is a great looking sedan, im glad it'l be in my drive way soon. I suggest if ur looking to buy a Z model u wait for just a lil while longer. Nissan is introducing a new updated Z model called the 370 Z (way better engine). Its coming this year i think.

Yesterday I saw a 2.5SL with the 17" inchers, you can buy them directly from Nissan,or negociate them when you buy the car. That's what the salesman told my Dad. 370Z will be most likely more expensive than the current Z which is north of 40 grand, I'm looking for something a little less expensive. =P, however in the mean time, I might look for a more classic, 280Z. Then buy the 370z when it comes down a tad in price.
