  • SUPER

  • when i first heard this it blew my mind away!

Long Live Rock & Roll .

  • On of the greatest guitarists!!

  • I really prefer Rainbow and Deep purple than Led Zeppelin...

I know, Jimmy is Good!! but Ritchie ... es GOD!!! jaaa

  • Tuning the guitar at 1:55

  • Would tremendously appreciate it if some1 posted the version i have on some "obscure" compilation cd from the 80's. It's what I call a clean version. No orchestra involved, just Ritchie and his band.

  • not better than Zepplin but a different musical texture......depth and feeling...I love them both. I love Blackmore and feel he is underrated...but page is excellent from a boy and through out his career...there difference speaks to the flavors of each soul bring their own uniqueness. I love Blackmore much more than steve morse...why? He's the original article. Blackmore.

  • Why does only the left channel work.... DOOWWWW !!!

  • man this song is amazing... love deep purple, basicsongs nothing is better than zep

  • Ritchie Blackmore is a true guitar genius and legend never bettered his own ultimate style -awesome - fact!

  • Richie....master of the masters!!!!..Forever!!!!

  • Even God calls Ritchie Blackmore GOD !!!

  • Ritchie

  • Love the way Ritchie uses the Middle Eastern sounding modes.

  • Ritchie, give the world some more of this stuff.Return..

  • This guy is absolutely the master of rock guitar. You always know when it is Ritchie Blackmore playing....

  • Man...the bottle neck in his hand...

  • very poor cuts off at the best bit, i'll give you a 4 out of 10 for this upload

  • best guitar player ever!!!no doubt

  • still my favorite gtr player ,I have gotten so much inspiration from his playing over the years,I remember watching rainbow in concert on eMpTV

  • Growing up back in the day i bought every Deep Purple & Rainbow album that came out. To me Ritchie was a god. I went to a Rainbow concert once and the band just quit playing and walked off the stage. Couldn't figure out why. Finally learned that some a-hole threw something and hit Ritchie in the eye. I was so freaking pissed.

  • Yes, they play for Billy Joel now, and Ritchie should return to playing rock. He is one of the best rock guitarists there ever was. He will never return to DP. He should get Rainbow back together. Rest o the boys are touring as "Over The Rainbow" these days. C'mon Ritchie!

  • In forty years of listening guitar this is still some of the best palying

  • Oh that is the pre opening bit he plays to "smoke.....

  • Richard Hugh Blackmore, the most underrated guitar player of all time, lest we never forget he wrote Smoke On The Water!

This is just a small example of his credentiality,

  • YOu got to see LIVE BETWEEN THE EYES another explosive version of this song with bob rondinelli on skins man..... brilliant!

  • first time i see that i was 9 years old. now 20 years later it´s my favorite song again.blackmore is the best guitar player ever.

  • I can't believe Chuck Burgi and David Rosenthal are playing for Billy Joel now.

  • Ah yes, the Finyl Vinyl version....the best one there is

  • From 4:31 of this video, glory for German composer Ludwig van Beethoven (Bonn, December 16, 1770 — Vienna, March 26, 1827), it is a movement of his Ninth Symphony (Ode to Joy), and good for English rock musician Ritchie Blackmore (Weston-Super-Mare, April 14, 1945 — )

  • will be blessed for ever "oceansplague" who said: "ur rite i will change my profile" --I had told to him long ago -->I can not judge a thing good or bad, because this is subjective! But you can do good or evil? the metal is good to you? But if you. As you can accept the same symbols and the same content of Satanism?

-->brother, now you have to raise the cross!

  • Very intense oriental scales...Ritchie is the King!

  • Hey Strat, Ritchie IS the king :)

  • Blackmore played whit that technique allready in the 60s

  • does anybody know where can I find the original video/dvd?

    thank you!

  • Goddamn... a volume swell in '84...

I always thought Yngwie introduced that technique... way to go Ritchie.

  • try jeff beck

  • yeah thanks...

but actually i found out ritchie was using it in the Made in Japan record, back in the '72. Now i don't know if Beck was using it at that time, but they, whatever? They're both great musicians.

    See ya

  • * but hey not but they lol

  • there's a song by the beatles called YES IT IS from '65 which features volume swells, but I'm not sure who came up with the idea. Regardless, the Man in Black is # 1 in my book...

  • someone pls post rainbow live onstage catch the rainbow

  • nao canso de ouvir

  • It's really hard to compare them.

Well, Page has introduced a lot of good heavy riffs + tricks like bow playing...

But Blackmore plays like fuckin' classical musician...so clean, smooth - real ace!

  • Fucking unreal......excellent !

  • Blackmore owns Page, please!!! Page couldn't carry Ritchie's guitar strap!!!!

  • i like that!!

  • hendrix is a good guitar-man but blackmore....is BETTER

  • weird way to gripping the slide huh!

  • yea, but if u do it hes way, its way more easy to just throw it away when ur done ..

  • fuck you all!!!!i like led zep and deep purple and black sabbath!!!They all are god of rock!!!

  • blackmore is god

  • damn good song

  • deep purple better than led zep......

  • @basicsongs Yes..But this is Rainbow. A good band in it's own right. But some would call a "poor man's Deep Purple".

  • @basicsongs do you even understand what are you saing? rainbow is a great band by all means but leave the monsters of the rock alone, founders of hard rock, heavy metal, folk rock... they also had huge influence to the todays musicians. so stop fucking around and preciate what they have left

  • @basicsongs it's your opinion man.... i love both bands! :D

  • @basicsongs +1!

  • @basicsongs

Why don't you go hide yourself?

  • @MegaMomchil Why don't you get lost?.......

  • @basicsongs this is neither.

  • man this guy is a genius of music. fuck kashmir and jimmy page! those guys are worthless in comparison with ritchie blackmore.

  • exactly he is the only real master of the stratocaster

  • jimmy page is totally overrated sure he is one of the best but not the best.

  • you don't even know how much i agree. but i got a question: did blackmore ever do the pinch harmonic? if he ever did, when did he do it?

  • Blackmore didn't do a Pinch Harmonic, Purple only did them when Steve Morse joined them.

  • that explains a lot!

  • @remember44 100000000000000000% agree!!

  • @remember44 +1!

  • @remember44 Why on earth should I fuck those guys?!?!?! Each one was unique in their way....Both of them were pioneers of this music and both of them know how to make magic with a guitar. Why can't someone enjoy both? I love both and I'm more than proud.

  • wow! from 2;00 to 4;00 sounds like the devil himself was playing those notes!!!

  • Ts this from Rainbow's last gig before Deep Purple reunited in '84?

  • wow....a rock arrangement with an orchestra....i remember tellin people when metallica did it and then everyone else did that blackmore tackled that yrs ago. i used to get mad at the lack of kudos people give blackmore....now it is a sign of knowledge....if you dont know....you just dont know....here's to Sir Blackmore, one of the most influential players of all time

  • and don't forget ,ritchie did the group and orchestra playing when he was in Deep Purple in 1970.

  • Best metal/rock guitarist ever!

  • !!!THE MASTER!!!

  • so true

  • Ritchie's really into this one. Dig the snake charmer scales.

  • mmmm, a part is missing, some four or five minutes. are you uploading it? wish you could! =)

  • its seems just so effotless..

Kudos and damn you blackmore; Your too good!

  • excellent video, terrific quality and of course, the greatest guitarist of all time.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • No more comments possible, everything is said already... ;)

  • You are correct in that he is the greatest guitarist of all time. He has also never compromised with what is commercially viable and stuck to his craft. Many who call themselves musicians these days could not play this well or arrange something like this. Beetohven would be proud.
