Hey guys, our headlining tour started today in Houston! We're playing an 80 minute set each night! Check out the rest of the dates through our website linked in the "video" information up top. Hope to see a lot of you at the shows! -Chris
never heard of these guys but they opened for protest the hero last night and i was at first like wtf no singer? but after loving their set I've been downloading their stuff all day morning
@RadioactiveSpaceman Nice insult. Especially when i only had an opinion about one of my favorite songs. Maybe you can come back at me with something intelligent if you feel like running your big trap.
Can this band write anything exciting? Yes.. it takes skill.. and yes.. It is appealing at times. But the entire album just feels like a giant build up to nothing. Its very hard to listen to for more than 2 songs.
@matthewassell Even though I like the music and the band regardless, I can always appreciate good, well thought out criticism. Kudos and thanks, my friend, for being civil and intellectual about your comment, rather than just saying something to the effect of "This totally blows."
@matthewassell Music and life are about more than getting prepped for one great fuck, sometimes it's about the moments in between, and the journey. Much to my distaste, many bands and musicians use build-ups and climaxes to maximize enjoyment, but only in short amounts. It takes too long to build up, and it can sometimes be a boring build up, then the conclusions are boring as well. You need an attention span and a capable mindstate to listen to great music like this.
@grahamcrackerlvr4578 Don't get me wrong, CHON is an amazing band. To be honest, I'm a little pissed that they haven't gotten signed yet. But in my opinion these guys bring much more to the table in terms of compositional prowess.
You guys realize, at like 5:10 on it gets more and more like the song "The Leviated", don't you hear it? Same/similar progression. I love when people are "comfortable" with their instrument. It reminds me of Pink floyd when they brought back the same kind of theme through out the wall. To bring back a piece from earlier on in the album and reuse it for awesomenes...
on regular albums, someone taking a piece from a previous song would seem stupid. But this is amazing.
@SpaceAboveSky yeh same thing The Contortionist did with the outro of their song "axiom" and the main line/outro in their song "contact" . using almost the same line in two different awesome ways. two great bands with the same idea. fuckin nice.
@SpaceAboveSky Tesseract did the same thing with Concealing Fate. Almost every song has some section of one of the previous songs to give it the feel of a truly conceptual album, like one really long well composed song.

@SpaceAboveSky I know what you mean, Dream Theater does it a lot too, some bands can really pull it off, but not always.
