As a classic Thrice fan and a professional musician myself, I can strongly say that the Alchemy Index volumes are some of the most valuable pieces of work in the whole current industry. This is what can happen when you don't worry about your label's rules/revenue and just make a record from your soul.

All of Thrice's music is genius, the water album is great calming music, fire is great metal guitar licks, earth is acoustic and air is clean guitar. its all different ways of playing music and thrice mastered all of it. All of their early albums were excellent in their own ways as well. I love all of it personally, i think some people say certain albums are shit just because they're not into that type of music. But in truth its all Godly.

I say this to people, im like, there isn't bad music, or sucky,or shitty music...Everyone have their type of music, and when you don't like it...that means it's not your type, not that it sucks. And for my opinion, I only listen to two songs of thrice (Lullaby and the arsonist) and now im listening to the water album....It's pretty nice, soothing...and atomic. something I put on my ipod, but ill listen to it to dream.:)

Thrice was & is the shit...if anything the old(great) stuff is a lot more of a whole package(vocals guitar bass drums)

Alchemy is a cool yet boring conept...they foucsed waaaaay to much on Dustins voice and lyrics...which are dope but they dont peirce your soul like "So Strange I remember You" that song had great drums,keyboard, singing/screaming,sick guitar parts especially the intro..Everything thrice was in that song/album

Theres nothing even close to that musicianship on this record!

@seanSHRED87 well, when a song "pierces someones soul", it depends on what that persons musical tastes are. I really like the Earth album, because its so simple and focuses more on the lyrics and their meaning. Its all a matter of opinion.

This song brings up some great questions, mainly was there ever a time we could live in peace, was there ever an Eden state?

I believe there was a time, but now we are all so trained we could never return to a natural state on purpose. Mass disasters are the only way now to be returned to the natural order of the world. There have been many types of life that lasted longer than humans that are now gone, and they didn't have self-destruction against them as well. We look to interesting times.

when i first bought this album i hated it. I hadn't bought vhiessu because i didn't like image of the invisible so when i went out and bought this one i wasn't used to the new sound. i was used to the artist in the ambulance and their red sky ep. I love this album now. i like volumes 1 and 2 more then 3 and 4

This place is what we make it and if we don't face it, there's no chance of stopping it. This reminds me of people getting high or drunk to numb(close our eyes,lullabies)the pain instead of protecting beauty(peace,hearts and hands) and fully aware of dangers(looked around...). just fyi......the very beginning of this song has some random noises in it. Turns out that while they were recording this song riley had the news on in the background and the mics picked it up and they listened to it and thought it sounded good so they just left it. If you turn the volume up really loud you can kinda hear it...
