i love how the video is about good technique of throwing and catching, and then he picks up a ground ball the way that everyone always tells you not to do at 2:26
@superelephant360 Probably cuz he doesnt want to waste time trying to pick the ball up shovel style. Although my coaches are always yelling at us (and me especially) to pick it up with 2 hands
That twisting technique he does is called cradling all it does is help sink the ball into the pocket so the catch is more reliable I wasn't able to catch like that until the end of my first season so don't you new kids worry it comes with time but you still wanna work on it
how do you cradle it like that before you throw. Like you have it in a throwing position but you are cradling it? People on my team do that and i dont know how so it would be great if you could teach me.
@getrEalnoob hey bro you dont twist it like cradaling so u keep your hands still but u kinda make the lacrosse head go in circles but not twisting it--- hope this helped
i do it all the time too..its second nature to me, i think the reason i do it is to subconsciously realize that the ball is in my stick and that i have control of it
@RainbowTwin1901 no i mean he does something a little bit after he catches the ball and a little bit before he throws it again for example look at his head and the motion he does rite when hes about to throw it 1:36
I know how to catch and all, but recently the ball rattles around in my stick ALOT when I "give with" the pass, I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right, but can anyone tell me what's happening?
@Lax4LifeOrDie yeah that could be it too try giving your head a little more pinch unstring ur head and put it in the microwave or boil it for a few seconds and tie a string through it knot it keep it tied for awhile and then un knot it and that should fix the rattling.. if none of that works buy some new string
@SHYSHILLY I used to play short-stick d, but I just didn't like playing just defense seeing as I'm the fastest person on my team, so I switched to middie. I sometimes take faceoff though
is a sophomore in high school too late to start lacrosse? pretty much all of my friends played football back in elementary and middle school, and then in late middle school/high school most of them went to lacrosse while i quit football because of my small size (only 120 pounds right now)
but now, lax is starting to seem pretty interesting to me and I'd like to try it, the season already started for my schools lax team, but for next year, would i be decent enough to play? I'm pretty athletic
@Fatality0217 i started my sophomore year and i'm doing fine. I mean i'm not sick but i worked really hard and im seeing huge improvements. Its not too late go for it!
Can someone please answer this question? I'm a 14 year old girl I play lax & need a US Lacrosse #. What is it, more importantly where can I get one? Thanks so much
you'd think they'd film this in a place where he wouldn't have to squint the whole time...
