It's funny because 97% of people sit at the drums and go "boom chh boom FUCKUP" Drums are easy but only when you've been playing them for a long time... In Dans shoes, at 13 I had only been playing drums for 3 years and could NOT do what he did here.

Dan is a universal musician. He's good at whichever genre he plays. No to mention, multi-talented with various instruments and his voice is amazing. He's a living metal legend.

It's silly that everyone is saying it sucks. He was like 13 AND he plays like 20 different instruments fairly decent. That's much more impressive than playing one like a god. Being able to completely create your own music, and just play one instument amazing are two different things. Just because he isn't a Neil Peart doesn't make him bad. Especially at this age.
He's okay but I know why I haven't heard of him before :( and I don't need to be told to shut up by a biassed imbred. This is my opinion he's not that good.
He's not primarily a drummer. He can play a wide range of instruments.
In fact he played pretty much all the instruments on Edge Of Sanitys Crimson II album (with the exception of some guest appearances).
The guy is a legend in various genres. Check out his bands Edge Of Sanity (for progressive death metal), Nightingale (for his lighter material), to name a few
@Averilli1 Wow your comment is old. And yes, he's not *that* great of a drummer, but at the age when he performed on this video, he was still pretty good. He's not legendary for his drumin' skillz, though, he's legendary because of his vocal and guitar work ;-)
@zarucarsha Personally I think he's just known for being a brilliant composer. He 'gets' music more than most others. Dan turns bands around, brings them to their peaks without even trying to. He's like a good director.
