i think he is trying to say that the difference between duties and rights is that duties are and act of giving towards the other, where rights are claiming domain with out the effort to give. Just a thought. Might have to watch the rest of it for clarification.

sorry it doesnt make sense. if a man is in a loveless marriage and is only staying faithful out of duty how is that "flourishing"? vice versa. If a kid only loves his father because of duty, is it love? the feeling of duty to do something for the husband is the opposite of the husband feeling he has right to get something done by the wife. You are just stating the bloody obvious.

In the olden days you could force wives and children to have a sense of duty, not now. Be practical please.
