  • Okay I've replaced the two ?'s with the names y'all gave me; someone check my work pls.

  • For reference, the ? next to Mike Herriot is Brad Turner. If you check back and see this, you should definitely update your list of who's who...Brad's won a couple Juno's, so it might be good to have his name on the list

  • You know it's bad when cutting off in time makes you the "odd man out"

  • What a balls up. So many good players and living legends and one phenomenal balls up. How to look in lost in 20 different ways on one of the most heard big band charts in history.

  • all of those trumpet players are amazing. if only i could play half as good... there were plenty missing, but once again, and amazing group

  • @bigclipper He went off alright. Out of tune, not on beat, not swinging mass of garbage.

  • @bigclipper You assume waaaaay too much. You have no idea how good of a musician I am or who I play for. A tin eared fool would cringe at that out of tune tripe. What do you mean by hater? If it describes the obvious, you consider it hate? CLIFF belongs in a high school marching band where he can blow that gut wagon crap till his hearts content. Not only was it in poor taste, but there are Salvation Army musicians with better talent than his fat ass.

  • best trumpet players of all time

  • Doc looks like a pimp! :)

  • Listen closly for doc during that final improve riff he sounds so good.

  • The player between Andrea Tofanelli and Jens Lindemann is Jim Murray, a friend of mine. He is also in the Prime Time Big Band in Calgary, Alberta.

  • Git,It... YEAH!! Gonna see him tomorrow night in Yountville. Can't wait!!

  • they are amzing trumpeters!

  • andrea tofanelli..... double d

  • Way to draw attention to yourself at an event to honor Doc. Classless.

  • was bergeron not up there?

  • he wasn't at ITG that year

  • doc did not look amused

  • What's the name of this song?

  • We'll get it

  • Song title "Well, Git it!" by Sy Oliver.

  • "Well, Git It!" by Sy Oliver

  • That trombone kicks major butt

  • yup thats wycliffe gordon for you

  • Allen Vizzutti right next to doc.

  • Doc and the Tonight Show band played this with Buddy Rich when he appeared on the Tonight Show.

  • Way too many non-trumpet solos. :(

  • At least they still played lead though. Trumpets blasted out the whole section >;).

  • Wycleff kicked all they're asses lolllll. ah that cat swings hard.

  • good

  • Hah...Tofanelli hangs on at the end just to let everyone know, "yes I ended on the highest note".

Naughty, naughty. But funny. Man Doc still sounds amazing.

  • That t-bone player is amazing. I play t-bone as well, and he is amazing. Vizzutti and Doc right by each other=amazing trumpet players

  • I'm pretty sure that's Wycliffe Gordon.

  • Wycleff Gordon was my favorite part of the ITG in '08...

  • Pure sausage fest... even with Ingred Jensen up there... LOL but AWESOME!!!

  • A few of those folks are not in the same league as Doc or Viz or Gould...

  • Dorsey I'm sure heard that trumpet section from his grave. He'd be proud. :-)

  • Now that is completely ridiculous. 5/5

  • Vizzutti wears even worse shirts than Doc haha

  • wycliffe surprised everyone so much they got lost and the next soloist didn't come in so by the time he decided to keep going it was too late hahaha. then he had to add his two cents worth at the end. awesome vid

  • vizzutti and the doc standing side by side

two unbelievably AMAZING players, as well as people

  • OMG... that trombone player totally owned the whole damn show.

  • That friend is the amazing Wycliffe Gordon.

  • Amazing? Definitely!

  • More than anybody else there, I'd love to be able to play like Maurice Murphy

  • Who wouldn't dig what Severinsen was doing.. but man, Wycliffe can kill you with his trombone sound. I had the pleasure of meeting him in my youth Jazz Ensemble.

  • this is retarded... in a good way... ^_^

  • what's the title of this song?

  • The tune is titled, "Well Git It!"

  • I'm a trumpet player and I love all these players but could they have walked on Wycliffe any more? I couldn't even hear the last few phrases. Man he was killin it too.

  • I though my underware had the most tears... this tops the list..

  • Note to self. Trumpet lineup playing Well Git It...bad idea.

  • Wycliffe Gordon was the best thing abou this video. And that's coming from a trumpet player.

  • Tutti ottimi trombettisti... grande reunion!!!

  • Jim Murray is his name and "just the lead player from the Prime Time big band" is a bit of an understatement I think seeing as how Andrea Tofanelli and Chris Jaudes asked for him to be in the line... And they both expressed that he can certainly hold his own next to these monsters...

  • Grandissimo Tofa!!!!

  • All monster players....but Tofa plays highest and loudest than all them!!! And Doc is truly a Legend...i love his playing!!!

  • You couldn't even hear his note until everyone else quit.

    Suona come ucellino

  • Grande Tofanelli! Hai lasciato il segno anche lì alla fine!

  • The first question mark is Brad Turner, second is just the lead player from the Prime Time big band
