This was written before 1974, possibly in India. If you listen to 'McCartney' issued in 1970 you'll hear a snippet at the end of 'HOT AS SUN' - before 'GLASSES'
I'm 99.99% sure that this is the song that Paul sent to Frank Sinatra and he rejected it. This song would've suit Frank Sinatra perfectly...to be honest I reckon Frank would have turned it down because the whole brilliant melody was out of his 'vocal range'...even if he changed the key.
Fuck....How would you be...Paul was about 32 in this video. Could you imagine knowing that you were in a band about '4'! years ago called....'The Beatles'!
HMMM, there was some jazzy stuff on the white album, but i don't think lennon would have really wanted to went that way, but probably for one or two songs.
@Logicallyrare Yeah I don't think Lennon would have wanted it either at that time even though they made that joke track "You know my name (look up the number)" which was parodying jazz. I think a big part of why Lennon left was lack of progress, but even him in his own solo career later on wrote a song with Frank Sinatra in mind on his "Walls and Bridges" album, the song was "Nobody Loves you (When You're Down And Out)."

Something tells me if the Beatles HAD stayed together they would have gone further into to the jazz direction.

I think this is the one he wrote for Sinatra but it would've been more suited to The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

Yeh. This was written way back when he was in The Beatles. There's a recording somewhere from the Get Back Twickenham sessions.
